The Reds Need To Sign At Least a New Defender
In my opinion, Liverpool need to sign at least a new central defender to replace injured Virgil van Dijk in January transfer window. I could see that the defending side of Liverpool is getting weak after Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez got worse injury and they must be absent during this season. As a core fan of The Reds, I just hope Jurgen Klopp think about it. Yeah, at least one new defender.
I know that Liverpool are so careful in signing a player. Liverpool will just only sign a potential player that benefit for long time for the team. It’s not just a temporary player. It means that Liverpool will be investing for a qualified player that may give the team big profit in the future. Mohammed Salah is a perfect example.
However, if The Reds don’t sign a new defender, I am worried that Liverpool will lost the chance to win Premier League title again this season though they are at the top of table right now. I am not sure Liverpool will stand longer on the top. We see that Liverpool just defeat 0-1 against Southampton a few days ago.
We will wait for the action of Liverpool management in the transfer window. Hopefully, they would try the best action for Liverpool. It’s really a good moment for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp to win as many as title of any competition.
To be honest they can even miss top four seeing the level every team is having and how crazy this seaosn has been. I think they need a defender not because they've been bad at defense. Fabinho has been great at center back, Phillips has made a good job and Williams, while being very young, by any means he has been bad. Even Henderson when needed has been decent at the job, but the team is missing that presence in midfield. Having to play two starter midfielders at CB isn't good for the team and that has been proven. They need a CB, at least for short term, so Fabinho and Henderson can be back at midfield and hopefully for them Matip and Gomez returns soon.
