Which is more valuable ? Hive Shilling on Twitter or HiveFest ?

avatar
(Edited)

I've no agenda here.

My own definition of HIVE Shilling is promoting decentralisation, freedom of speech and empowering creators.

HiveFest happens once a year, the organiser get funded from DHF. It helps our own community to get together.

HIVE shilling on Twitter happens 24/7/365 and it help our community and projects/dapps to connect with wider crypto community and the web2 world.

It really hurts when someone with good intention trying very hard to bring long term value to our HIVE community that person receives more criticism and little encouragement.

Also, I wanted to declare that no in our community or anyone outside from our community paying me for what I do for HIVE.

Rather than Hive “shilling” I think people should just share the best Hive posts everywhere .... not just Twitter.

Sharing HIVE content everywhere can definitely bring value.

It's more about who sharing that content is matter and we're trying to empower home grown HIVE influencers.

The problem with Hive is all the Hive whales downvoting new users. Mostly out of spite and envy. ??? Not good.

We can't please everyone to agree with us but knowing your intention is good. You will be fine for sure because people will notice your hard work and dedication. Just keep doing what you are doing. You are already an amazing hive owner.

I have never really been to a HiveFest so I wouldn't be able to compare. But I do think the community is more important and onboarding more users will help the platform more.

I don't exactly like using Twitter for most things so I will just focus on commenting on HIVE and creating little bits of engagement here and there. So I will focus on what I can give to HIVE and I think your doing a great job of shilling HIVE on Twitter.

When most people in our community do this we can grow exponentially.

Thank you for what you do, @nathanmars

I do not have many followers on Twitter, hardly 1/4 of followers of what you got.
Plus, my skills and experience on Twitter is fairly mediocre.
But I try my best. And always retweet you once I see smth.
Keep it going strong.

Meet ups used to be a thing, I’ve not been to one, but I think the people who attend most of it are already people within the community to talk about the technology and where it is going, Hive shilling on Twitter does a different thing entirely,...
A Twitter post with Hive recently netted me over 5000 impressions, that’s cool, I don’t think I can ever have that reach on a meet up

The community is behind you, that is for sure! You get the support from us. Keep on doing the wonderful things you do, and you will gather the fruits sooner or later.

Comparing one with the other might be off, as they might be complementary.

Telling me to take an action only once in 52 weeks might probably leave me with taking no action. But when I'm been reminded every 52 weeks I'm to take an action, I'll definitely do so.

HiveFest basically I believe is an event that gathers Hive community members together either for the purpose of getting to meet community members one on one or to discuss about the growth of Hive. Twitter shilling is something entirely different. Strategic Hive shilling helps get Hive known by more people and helps bring more people to Hive.

Both are valuable considering their purpose, but when it comes to attracting investors to Hive, the shilling has my win. Twitter shilling can help bring in the investors, while HiveFest can help retain them.

Hi Brother @nathanmars
What you do for Hive is adding more value to the platform and Hive Shilling on Twitter is a great action.
Its obvious that not everyone will be happy with what we do and this happens almost everywhere.

Thank you so much for your hard work that you are doing for #hive.

Is there a strategy for the shilling?

What message is the people shilling telling the world that Hive is?
To what interface is it directing people who catch an interest as a result of the shilling?
How and where is it signing up new users? Is there any form of tracking of the people who sign up and start posting as a result of engagement on Twitter?

I'm asking because from what I can tell, it doesn't look like it is having nearly as much of an impact as it should have. Imo, we need better communications material to share, a better page to direct people to that can make them excited, and an onboarding process that is both easy and tracable.

Is there a strategy for the shilling?

It's the same question that Andrew Levine asked me when we started executing Steem Seven77 Twitter.

With passion, vision and dedication, it's easy to figure out a strategy that bring results. Our community has been trying all many different ways to bring HIVE awareness via Twitter. Without incentives and a cheerleader like myself and others, we can't bring results.

The first year it sleeps, the second year it creeps, the third year it leaps.

onboarding process that is both easy and traceable.

I see HIVE as a startup and we should be looking to grow it exponentially with a killer DApp, Killer feature, Big investor or Huge partnership. The competitors/innovators are catching up.

HiveFest will only look better if we expand this community to 10 folds using Hive Shilling!!! ;)

The number of efforts you are putting out daily in bringing eyeballs to Hive is mind-blowing & inspiring to people like me. Don't let the criticism feel you disheartened Nathan, it's an opportunity to introspect and get better.

Please let us know if you are facing any challenges and I am sure the community would be happy to help you amplify this bro. Cheers!

It’s our responsibility to explain our stakeholders the long term value of community driven hive Twitter marketing.

Like HiveFest, Twitter shilling allow community members to get to know each other while stay connected with other crypto communities.

As I said earlier, I’ll not take no for an answer.

I am trying my best to explain the value of the proposal you have put forward, to at least one person on Hive every day. I am discussing it everywhere!!! I am sure sooner or later more people will realize its value and start supporting it.

"NO" should not be there in our dictionaries. Keep focusing on explaining this to more Hive whales. Let's get them to support this community-driven effort.

Never giving up something we believe that can bring 10X growth to our HIVE Network.

It's feels like, we'll have to go through little battle getting this proposal funded.

in the absence of capital, you're irrelevant.
with capital (Social or Financial), you're powerful.

I'll be honest with you: As a full-time academic and father of two I really can't be bothered with HiveFest.

But I read and appreciate your Tweets on a daily basis. So you the very least I can give you here is my upvote!

I read and appreciate your Tweets on a daily basis.

It's not solo effort and it's our community's collective efforts.

Our daily efforts are compounding.

HiveFest has it's own value and HIVE Twitter Shilling is like CryptoFest that powered by HIVE community.

Nathan, you are the boss and I tried to promote the marketing proposal many times to our bigger stakeholders. In general, we need a community-driven marketing team.

Every Web 2.0 or centralized crypto/website or whatever has a marketing team. The reason is simple, people need to know.

You got already attention from Kimdotcom and many others. We should do everything to get the proposal funded, get the data and improve the work.

Hive needs to scale the time. Many people can work on many different things at the same time. So I think Stakeholders that read this comment should ask themselves, why it has value. The answer is clear, close to nothing to lose and much to win.

I hope we get it funded and can expand the work to Interviews, and more Web 2.0 sites + Marketing materials. Would be cool because we have so many talents in the community :)

we need community-driven marketing and it's very powerful and it's more sustainable.

HIVE need growth, innovation and a group of people that empower entrepreneurship.

We will probably see a HIVE version of Shark Tank soon and our DHF Proposal 170 might be the first HIVE startup that go through this process.

Hello friend @nathanmars ! I think that , " When a person dedicates much of his valuable time and goodwill collaborating, stimulating, supporting and demonstrating the true importance of staying within the #hive community, and the power that it has in the long term; besides attracting new content creators, he must be clear that he will be rewarded with the satisfaction of having done the right thing. That will raise your self-esteem , and you will also be able to enjoy the results of your effort, which will not have been in vain" "So don't faint because you are doing it right.

This is a random question to ask in the LeoFinance community section.

Remember, we're the investment and finance community on the Hive blockchain.

For this to be at the top of the popular section on the community homepage with a pending +100 LEO reward, for me is a bit meh.

Anyway...

You do a lot of great stuff promoting Hive on Twitter, but there's a fine line between promotion and spamming.

Don't be that guy.

Our blockchain's tech and community are lightyears ahead of the rest.

So don't 'shill', as you put it.

Instead, show that building on Hive can provide solutions to most decentralised problems.

Also highlight some of the amazing, long-form content that is on-topic within each community and rewarded handsomely for the author's time.

If done properly, sharing is happening right here will speak for itself.

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

This post is asking a question regarding the value and great investor like Warren Buffet understands the correlation between identifying value and long term investment.

Our blockchain's tech and community are lightyears ahead of the rest.

I can agree with the community but not the tech

Hive needs growth and Twitter and Clubhouse can help our community leaders and dApp founders to build genuine relationships with other crypto leaders and communities.

CZ understand the value of Shilling but some of our HIVE community will not understand it.
