The best card to produce SIM today is.... (ENG/ITA)

Those who follow me and read my posts on dCity know that my short term goal is to reach a production of 3000 SIMs per day.

My annual goal is to reach a production of 10000 SIM per day.

To reach both my goals I need to invest in dCity buying the cards that give me the highest income in terms of SIM tokens.

So this morning I went to the dCity marketplace to choose the best card to buy to increase my city's SIM production.

For best card I mean the card that has the best SIM INCOME/$ ratio i.e. the card that for every dollar spent gives me the highest SIM production per day.

In the following image you can see the spreadsheet I created to calculate the SIM INCOME/$ ratio of the cards for sale on the dCity marketplace.

Note: The HIVE, SIM token, and card price values for dCity are as of 12:00 this morning (December 9, 2021).

image.png

In column 6 of the spreadsheet is the SIM INCOME/$ ratio using SWAP.HIVE tokens as the payment method.
In column 7 there is the SIM INCOME/$ ratio using the SIM tokens as the payment method.

Additional note: in the spreadsheet I excluded the cards that produce an increase in the negative factor CRIME
I did not consider the effect of using technology cards that are able to increase the daily SIM production of specific cards.

The Hotel card

As you can see from the image below the cards that had the best SIM INCOME/$ ratio at 12:00 this morning were:

  • Hotel
  • Weed Dispensary
  • Restaurant
  • Ad agency

The cheapest card to purchase was found to be the Hotel card while the most convenient payment method was found to be using SIMS.

image.png

After choosing the cards to purchase I made the purchase.

image.png

I bought a total of 40 Hotel cards and spent a total of 37818 SIM (equivalent of 177.03 HIVE).

image.png

image.png

image.png

For me, this is the second time in a row that I have found the Hotel card to be the most convenient card to buy.
Last week I bought 30 more Hotel cards and 10 Restaurant cards and spent a total of 191,052 SWAP.HIVE.
I spent less than my previous purchase because, compared to a week ago, the value of HIVE has increased while the value of SIM tokens has slightly decreased.

How soon will I recover my last investment?

In my spreadsheet, I included the break-even point calculation for each card.
In the calculation I also considered the present value of taxes which produces a decrease in SIM production and consequently lengthens the time to recover the cost incurred in the purchase of the cards.
This morning the taxes were at 18.70%.

image.png

As you can see from the next image each Hotel card I purchased will require 116.33 days to recover the purchase cost incurred.
After 116.33 days it will produce only profit.

The effects produced on my city

Now I'll show you the effects my latest purchases have had on my city.

Before the purchase my city had:

  • SIM production: 1823 SIMs per day
  • citizens without jobs: 2.43%
  • population: 2311

image.png

image.png

After purchasing the Hotel cards the situation is as follows:

  • SIM production: 2168 SIMs per day (+ 345)
  • citizens without work: 1,49% (- 0.94%)
  • population: 2897 (+ 586)

How to Calculate SIM Income/$ Ratio

A few days ago I was written on discord by @steify who asked me some advice about dCity and asked me how to calculate the Income SIM/$ ratio.

Calculating the SIM/$ ratio is extremely simple and I explain it below with a practical example.

To calculate the SIM Income/$ ratio you need to know:

  • the dollar value of 1 HIVE (I use the value provided by @coingecko)
  • the dollar value of 1 SIM
Easy to calculate: value of 1 SIM in HIVE * dollar value of 1 HIVE.
  • the cost in SIM and in SWAP.HIVE of the card you want to buy.

This morning the values of the HIVE and SIM tokens were as follows:

image.png

  • To calculate the SIM INCOME/$ ratio (using SIMs as a payment method) you need to apply the following formula:
Card Income / (Cost in SIM card * Dollar value of 1 SIM).
The Hotel card this morning had a cost of 945.8 SIMs.
The calculation to do is as follows:
    10 / (945,8 * 0,0006131) = 10 / 0,576938 = 17,245

  • To calculate the SIM INCOME/$ ratio (using SWAP.HIVE tokens as the payment method) you must apply the following formula:
Card Income / (Cost in SWAP.HIVE card * Dollar value of 1 HIVE).
The Hotel card this morning had a cost of 4.485 SWAP.HIVE
The calculation to do is as follows:
    10 / (4,485 * 0,131) = 10 / 0.587535 =17,020

image.png

Conclusion

I hope this post is useful to @steify but also to all new dCity players who are not yet familiar with the dynamics of this beautiful game.

To reach my annual goal of 10000 SIMs per day I need to invest more and I will do it in the next days.

If you liked my post follow me to read my next posts on dCity.

Important Note:

dCity more than a game is an investment and mainly as such must be treated.

In every kind of investment there is always a risk factor to evaluate and consider.

I'm happy and satisfied to have invested in the dCity game but I can't predict the future (unfortunately) and so this post of mine is not an invitation to invest on dCity.

image.png

Procedo all'acquisto.

image.png

  • cittadini senza lavoro: 1,49% (- 0.94%)
  • popolazione: 2897 (+ 586)

Come calcolare il Rapporto SIM Income/$
