The FOMO got the best of me but let's see how I remediate this

We are living a crypto bull run like never before and we have surpassed significantly the one from 2017. Looking at the crypto markets I don't know what token is not rising these days, and even a shitcoin like Dogecoin is doing good with all the fake tweets from Elon Musk. We are living thrilling times, exciting times, bull run times and I think that the fall will be as hard as we get to new ATH day by day. And when that happens you better have your seatbelt on as you might be smashed for good. And in such times, even if it might not be a bad investment afterall, I've given in to Zilliqa (ZIL) and bought in.

I've got my hands on a bunch of money that I was going to spend during the month, but being connected constantly on the crypto market and as I haven't bought in anything for quite a time (even if my cryptos were doing all and my portfolio was heading up) I felt the urge to get in the game and buy something more. It was a post or two from the Leo Finance about Zilliqa (ZIL), about what it brings to the table and some price prediction heading from $0.08 to $0.12 and more that made me consider it. Probably there were some better options to invest to, but I felt that I heard about ZIL and didn't act and the price seems still low at this price point.

While I always advice on Do Your Own Research DYOR, I read briefly a little bit about it and considered by the look of it a good investment. The reasons for that were the ones present also on the Zilliqa official webpage and looked good enough to make the next move.

Research Brought to Life - Zilliqa was born at the National University of Singapore and was the brainchild of a team of academics, entrepreneurs, and engineers. Our technology is backed by peer-reviewed academic research.

My conclusion: A serious team seems to be behind the project and being from university space that should bring some more confidence to it.

Mainnet Live Since Early 2019 - With the launch of our mainnet in January 2019, we became the first public blockchain platform in the world to successfully utilise sharding as a scaling solution.

My conclusion: Sharding offers real scaling capabilities, so having this will surely allow this ecosystem to grow.

image.png

Safe-by-Design Smart Contract Language - Zilliqa is powered by the first peer- reviewed and safe-by-design smart contract language called Scilla. Using functional programming design principles (as in OCaml) allows it to be more friendly towards static checks and formal verification.

My conclusion: Having a smart contract language developed for it surely means serious business and gives the flexibility to adapt it to contract requirements and also make it easy to use in the end.

image.png

Eco-Friendly Dual Mining - Thanks to Zilliqa's consensus mechanism, the ecological footprint of mining has considerably been reduced. Only 1 minute out of every 2-3 hours is needed to mine ZIL, allowing one to dual-mine other chains at the same time.

My conclusion: As I have a RIG for mining Ethereum (6x RX480) having the possibility to mine also Zilliqa with it seems a win-win.

image.png

Blossoming Ecosystem - Over 60 project teams from over 20 countries have contributed to Zilliqa's ecosystem. This includes individuals and teams developing wallets, explorers, developer toolkits, smart contract testing frameworks, dapps, and more.

My conclusion: We all know how important a community is (look at us here on Leo Finance) and having members from over 20 countries shows its worldwide culture and interest.

Beside the FOMO that got into me, I think that I have covered through the DYOR my investment in it. I got to buy ~14,000 ZIL so it is not a small investment in my opinion. Now, just waiting for the price to rise and decide when to sell, it is not anymore something that today's investors do. With that in mind next thing I have search was how to put the ZIL crypto at work and soon I have found out that Atomic Wallet gives 15% for staking. While I don't enjoy having another wallet, I think the offer is pretty good and I have jumped on it. Thus any Zilliqa that I will earn from staking should balance if the price decreases and should put me in a good position overall.

That is all about me falling prey with FOMO, but I hope that it will turn on fine with the measures I put in place. And on top of that I should get some AWC rewards from doing some exchange on Atomic Wallet and also staking them at 17%. I will track both the Zilliqa (ZIL) and Atomic Wallet (AWC) cryptos together and see how these will do on the long term.

I also have a few ZIL though I have honestly not checked about the staking. 🤔🤔

I am waiting to get the first returns after 1 day of staking. Anything helps long term and 15% is a good number to gain some more. Meanwhile I will check what are opportunities are in the space.

Thanks for the interesting post. I think the future is in cryptocurrency. I wish all investors the growth of their cryptocurrencies.

Growing cryptocurrencies through one method or the other minimizes the risk when the price falls. And if the price goes up, so much better.

Good luck with it!
I don't like atomic wallet though. Find exodus more reliable.

Thanks and I probably need some luck with it as I didn't do my diligence to deep. Atomic Wallet gives a good return, I wouldn't use it otherwise.

You can't lose any trade at this point in the market. For at least half a year they're all gonna go.up.

Some others questions :)
How is the token distribution? How much the team/devs have for them selfs? How much the top holders have? Mining is a bit fisrt gen cryoto, how much speed they can achive ... tx per second.... etc :)

These are very good questions and should have been part of my DYOR. Indeed some things are old style, others new, I will try to dive into this space more and share with the community. I am involved in so many crypto projects and each with their specific and I try to put them on autodrive once I find a good fit to gain more tokens per each.

I got some ZIL in my portfolio too. Thanks for the Atomic wallet thing. I have it but I didn't know about the staking.

I've had to choose last summer between ZIL and Elron Gold, and opted for the second. ZIL is still an interesting project, where I might step in if I find some spare change.
How do you handle so many different projects?

Great decision going with ELRON, I have listed an interview with ELRON inventor last year but the information passed through me :( I see it goes crazy on the market these days, even if a colleague of mine told me to buy when it was around $50 for some reason I didn't. Well, what is another regret between the others... :DDD

There are to many choices to get into this days. Don't cry about ELRON as you got into AVA, where I still struggle to have a decent stake. :)
