Now Silvertop needs to come clean about this coin...
I was shopping at my local coin shop, something I usually did once a Month for Silver, and one Gold Sovereign, and the LCS ran out.........😳
Justin the man behind the counter knew Silvertop well, and saw my disappointment and brought out this Gold Constitution Commemorative!!!😀

Sometimes when you are stacking you trip over a log.......and find that pot of Gold!!!!😇🤗

Stack on my friends.....

Silvertop...Mike😀

That’s a nice piece of gold you got there brother. USA Coinbook has a commemorative book which will definitely have that coin in it.

I will check it out, I thought it would have been easier to find good information online, but for the most part I kept finding auctions.
@ronaldoaveline is the commemorative man, and sent me all the stats🤗

Sweet coin and fun story. I love when things happen like that. Was it an accident or was it meant to be?

The 1987 Constitution $5 Gold Coin was issued along with a silver dollar coin to mark the 200th anniversary of the United States Constitution.
The obverse design of the coin featured a stylized flying eagle holding a quill pen. Rays emanate from behind the eagle.
On the reverse of the coin is a quill pen positioned horizontally, with “We The People” written in calligraphy and an arc of thirteen stars.
The issue price was $225.00.
The mintage was 651,659 Proofs.
PCGS graded 7,934 Proofs with 6,574 PR-69 and 1,317 PR-70.
PCGS price for a PR-69 is $410.00 and for a PR-70 is $425.00. Very small difference.

I love that commemorative coin. It is an important commemorative, and you are lucky to acquire an important piece. I have 1987-S Constitution Silver Commemorative Dollar but of course, it is nothing compared to your beautiful PR gold coin! It looks FABULOUS!!! I know that the US Mint always had the gold version of some of the commemoratives, but I did not know that the Constitution commemorative was also in gold. Thank you for this show.
Have a lovely day, my friend @silvertop, and take care 🥰🌺🤙

Very nice gold piece, @silvertop, I'm biding my time in getting a US gold coin, I'd be happy with a half oz to go with my tiny Canadian/British/Australian/Liberia gold stack.

What a cool piece. I love me some gold, especially when it's graded. PCGS is also my favorite grading company. All the Pre-33 I have is in PCGS slabs.

Thanks for sharing 👍
