Don't forget to power up at least 10 Hive today to participate in POWER UP DAY!
But I also thought some of us could simultaneously decline rewards today too.

You don't have to unless you want to, but the rest of the posts I make for the next 24 hours I am going to decline the author rewards. This means that 100% of the payout is shared by the curators. Vote on this and you will share 2x as much of the payout as you normally would.

50/50 is the normal payout but you can choose to receive 100% vested Hive instead. Burn means you actually destroy the rewards that are paid out, reducing the coin supply. Donating to the Hive Fund is a nice thing to do for the community, and declining simply says that the curators voting on your post will share all the rewards. Try it out once or twice a week! Not every post needs to be about earning Hive, sometimes it can be a statement. Or it can be gifting other users you appreciate.

Using PeakD you can set beneficiaries to receive part or all of the author rewards.

Can you give any examples of uses for these options?

A Hive post could be a Happy Birthday card, and the beneficiary is the birthday boy.
You might want to make a political statement and decline the rewards or burn them.
If you post something that you didn't create and don't want to earn rewards for.

Click the Barrel then vote on the BURN post
