More updates and more time - The Restart - Getting out of the Gig-Economy

This is my first #noloafingmoney update since the start of #covid19 My last post was in March, and there has been a lot of changes in the world, my work and my family. I eluded to a couple of things that were brewing in my last update with a major client, and that only got worse.

Now that I am getting my "real" job, my main consulting practice back on the path of profitability, I am back to focusing on my membership site and building tools that I can sell.

My goals for getting out of the gig-economy is very similar to before, but I'm adding a few paths to profit that include #hive.

The new plan

First this is going to follow a multi-tiered approach.

  1. Continue with the original digital product/membership site that I was working on before. I'm reviewing the course I purchased in the fall.
  2. Product-ize my services. This means that I'm going to create service packages that aren't open ended.
  3. Build a hive life.

The original plan

There wasn't anything wrong with the original plan, but maybe the timeline was a bit compressed. With this new plan, I will be expanding it to include a lot of different ideas and pushing out the end date.

My goal TODAY, is to reach the goal by the end of Decemeber.

Product-ized Services

I'm not sure what this looks like yet, but when I do, there will be a post dedicated to JUST that.

Build a hive life

I was away from the platform for a while, and now that everything in the "real world" has started to settle a bit, I realized that I missed this place. I still have a lot of issues that I would like to see fixed, but after the whole #steemhostiletakeover thing, I am glad I'm part of this community.

As such I've taken all the profits that I need to from my initial investments in both #steem and #hive and I'm stopping my powerdowns. In fact, I'm planning to become even more active here and on D.Buzz. With all the "earnings" I'm going to start a curation trail with a brand new account. This curation trail is going to focus on everything renewable energy and energy efficiency. I want to build this trail to the point that it will encourage creators to at least install the @steempress plugin on their blogs, and maybe create some converts.

Finally, I'm going to invest more into the Hive SBI effort.

My goal is to only extract HBD from the system to pay for my life, and be part of the goal of $5k USD profit a month. When I create the curation trail, 80% of the HP on this account will be delegated there so it has the most impact possible.

Over time I will likely start to power-down from this account, but I will not power down from the new account for at least 5 yrs from the day I start it, or if there is a massive change in the direction of hive like there was with STEEM.

No more loafing for #noloafing

All of these posts will be tagged with the #noloafingmoney so if you want to see what I'm doing over there, that is the place to do it.

Its time for me to stop loafing and get involved. Plan to see a lot more of me on this platform and the other front ends.

The goal

The goal is to build a product or series of products that allows me to scale. The financial goal is to build a business that has a monthly revenue stream of $5k with less than 20hrs worked on average by the end of 2020

The Why

If this is your first time here, thanks for stopping by. I wrote my first post on this topic in November 2019. They all have a "special" tag, so you can find them all here: #noloafingmoney. If you want to see where this all started, its with this post, Money and the Gig-Economy.

How I'm Doing

August Update:

  • Hours worked: 14 hrs
  • Revenue:
    -- New Business: $0
    -- Hive Life:
  • Expenses: $0

Saw your comment even though you deleted (thanks to Ginabot)...

You had a trace amount of pending vote balance on Steem that was converted into pending vote balance on Hive when your units were converted. Because it was added to the total, but not to any component used in the 'structure of your total' calculations, they do not add up to 100%.
