The inviting taste of words on your lips
A tender kiss
The lingering hand against my face, begins to trace
Explore my heart, a whispered start

Musing. Oh, yes. How I love to muse. To reflect. Ponder. Play with my words and make them mean something, sometimes straightforward and sometimes almost woven into the fabric to avoid detection. A diary of thoughts, dreams, life, and dreams yet to be dreamed.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"

I just love what you said. 😍😍 You are good on words, Denise, so you can really do this. And you describe it so vividly, I can imagine it!

Is one of the flowers called daffodils? It is very pretty! 😍 We were taught a song about daffodils back when we were in elementary, and the name of that flower stuck into my mind. When internet days came, I searched what "daffodils" looks like. Hahaha! 😂

Photos are amazing, especially the ones facing each other, as if talking. 😍

Thank you @gingbabida! I am glad you like my words. I often wonder if I should skip them from my posts, but, I do enjoy playing with the words, so I leave them :)

Yes! thise yellow ones are daffodils and they are a spring flower. They arrive in very early spring, sometimes there is snow on the ground. Not here, because we get very little snow if any, but, many places north of here. I will have to see what songs there are for daffodils! Now you have me curious!

I am sorry I didn't get to the contest yesterday, I worked the night before and had errands and then just fell face-first into bed the first chance I got! :( I checked today and the date has expired. To be fair, I wouldn't feel right entering a contest I donated to, however, I hope it got a few more entries and if not!!! You have a grateful winner! :) I wish you luck and thank you for hosting this wonderful contest!

I researched it now, and it's a poem by William Wordsworth, but was taught to us with melody. Hmmm, I wonder why. 🤔

I actually learned many poems by way of melody. I think it is easier for kids. :) Thank you! I will have to look it up now!

Well, there is where you are wrong. I told you I would try and I wanted you to know that I had intended, but, got too busy (I haven't even finished the Market Friday from this week yet!)

And you are important enough for me to at least give you an explanation on why. I am most pleased to be able to do anything to help. Thank you for understanding. And I do wish my feed were better. I miss so much!

I believe that if I could completely ignore the craziness life dishes out, I'd be musing most of my waking hours. As it is, I do it a lot, as obviously you do. Words are such fun playthings, aren't they?

Your poem is wonderful and those gorgeous flowers just give it even more feeling as we read along. You are a wordsmith extraordinaire!

It's a real rush for me when I can write my deeper thoughts in such a way that the reader identifies with what I've said and fully understands, but it's also nice to know that someone simply enjoyed the way I've arranged the words.

I won't sit and dwell upon it. The words come in five minutes or they will never come

I have no idea why I started pairing the pictures to words, but, to me, they seemed almost incomplete without them. So I began giving them a few here and there. Now, I can almost not stand to put up a flower without one. Although I do. Some people need a break from it.

Oh, but, it is!!! Come closer to the sun, you are much too far away! We haven't had winter yet, which in the Washington, DC area seems strange, although they are not ever harsh winters.

No snow, no freezing temperatures, although it has dipped down at night. Where did our winter go? Too late now, they just need to move on to spring. It is too late to start this winter thing now!

Another wonderful day in the neighborhood, Joan. For some reason, we have been blessed with a winter that has never happened yet. I'll be gone to South America for part of February and a cruise on the rest of it, so hopefully, I can avoid it before I have to come back! :)

Escaping the winter for the South, then having a cruise sounds a good way to recoup with little to no internet obviously where you will be located. No deadlines nothing drawing your attention away other than having a lot of fun, enjoy!

Beautiful flowers. Even more beautiful prose to go along with each. It's amazing how you take such beautiful pictures. For some reason, my hands shake; my body is about to fall over if I don't hurry up and snap. Hence, horrible blurred pics; pics of my feet, hands, and other parts of my body I never intend anyone to see, lol.
