Learn Something New - Everyday PlusOneing
Continuing the journey that it seems sidelined with the Plus1Success, today was dedicated to learning something new!
Actually, since I decided to start my own program I've been learning something new everyday! Working with programing, a membership script, even writing my own Ebook was new! And still learning!
Today I wanted to add something to highlight the Epic Fireball Giveaway on the main page of CTP Blueprint!
With @blainjones guidance - poor soul not even on "Joncation" AND on a Sunday he has rest - I added a cute box on the side of the main page:
Can you imagine that little thing it's already a ton of work for someone still noob at this?? ahaha
Now I have a little idea why @blainjones gets anxious when @jongolson asks him for "little" things...
Anyway, was very pleased and proud with the result...Until I asked @flaxz to review it!
Erik is my hero for doing all his work on phone and tablet! I can't imagine doing some things without my pc lol I guess it's a matter of adaptation...
On small screens that box puts kinda mixes with the text and the website seems very strange..
Aw bummer...Here we go!
You guys might know that my best friend all this past few months is...w3schools lol and PreSearch!!
After a few testings and attempts, the best I came up with so far is this:
I coded to hide the video on phone devices and the background inside the box is all white!
So people are kind of obliged to check for the event ahaha
Not ideal but..The goal was completed! lol

My testing was using my phone directly lol
The website itself actually looks good on the phone, it's just that little box..it's only temporarily anyway.
It was almost 2am so I left as it is and maybe today I can tackle it again!

You are doing amazing work Eliana, I am not sure if you actually got what I meant about the suggestion to make a horizontal banner, so what I meant was, make a wide but not very high banner, say 1500 pixels wide and then 200 or 300 pixels high, then you place that above the top text and keep the rest of the layout as is, the key to looking good on any smaller device, even Lisa's laptop is to not have elements besides each other but have one column and then fill it downwards on the page, keep up your awesome work.

Yeah I understood what you said but I was stubborn with myself because I like the box on the side ahaha but I will try to tackle it again today or so and see how it goes :)
