What Is HolyBread?

Holybread is a RPG game that is built on the Steem blockchain. Its free to play and offers the chance at winning real currencies.

Battle vs. other players in this RPG style game. Take your character, known as a hero, on quest to earn XP points and find in game items in which you can use to make your hero stronger or sell to other players on the in game market for STEEM.

Playing this game is free but if you so choose you can make in game purchases to speed up your journey. I myself haven't purchased the game yet but its likely at some point I will. Currently I'm testing out what its like to play 100% for free and so far its been very enjoyable.

The game is simplistic to play but yet does have elements of strategy envolved. They have (what I consider) a great model for distributing prizes to their players. Every week 20% of the players prize pot is used to buy back the in game currency known as BreadCrumbs.

What Is BreadCrumbs?

Breadcrumbs is an ingame currency in Holybread that is mainly rewarded for the arena rank. It is tradable with other players on Steem-Engine. Currently the main purpose of Breadcrumbs is to reward players for their performance and activity in Holybread.

HolyBread will use 50% of everything that is earned by Holybread to buy back Breadcrumbs from the market. That way players can earn real money. There may be more purposes for Breadcrumbs in the future.

That means 20% of the 50% prize pot is used every week to buy back the in game currency from players and investors. To me this is a great model as it allows the prize pot to grow each week and in return the payout for players also grows each week. The model also allows for prize distribute protection in weeks the game might not make many sales.

How much can I earn playing for FREE?

That's a tough question to answer because as noted items can be found in quests. Some items are much more valuable because they have better playability than others. Heros can also be found in quests, the true value of all theses items are yet to be seen as the game is barely a week old. I can say that during my first two days of playing this game (I paid $0 to play) I have sold close to 20 STEEM worth of items. A screen shot of my most recent sale can be seen below.

Will the sales keep up, no-one knows for sure. For those with patience items can be attained for free in quests but if you want to get to the top of the league rankings and earn as much breadcrumbs as possible then you will either need to get lucky and find a good item in a quest or purchase one, either from another player in the market or from the item store.

What is the Item Store?

The item store is where we can spend the other in game currency known as Gold. We earn gold while completing Quests. We also earn small amounts of gold after winning a battle vs. other players in the arena. We have the option of refreshing the nine items offered in the item store once within a 24 hour period. If you want to refresh more than once within that 24 hour period it will cost you some bread.

What is Bread?

Bread is the main currency in the game Holybread. It can be earned for free doing daily tasks and also can be purchased. Bread allows players to skip wait times between battles and quests thus making it possible to find items quicker and to level up the league faster.

Completing quests and battles take energy and once our hero's are out of energy we will have to wait until they regain some before we can battle or take on another quest. Ten energy replenishes to our hero every one hour. Quest take anywhere from 5-15 energy to complete. So as you can see, using bread does give an advantage to speed things up but isn't a necessity to be a successful HolyBread Player.
