Creation and Engagement on Decentralized Platforms - IAAC Day 33

Still alive, still kicking! More than a month doing this challenge, creating videos every day, and I hope, bringing some value with my vlogs and blogs...

Today video isn't a fairy tale with a happy ending, or a story full of flowers and cakes all around... If you are familiar with "my style" of vlogging, you have already known this before...

So, in a nutshell, it is a classic rant, but with a positive outcome... :)

I'm a straight guy and I like to play with open cards... Maybe some joker in the sleeve, but I like clean, fair play... I like to be clear with my surroundings and to know on which person I can count and which not...

In an online world, it's not always like that... As a matter of fact, it's very often the opposite... A lot of dirty laundries are easier to hide when you are behind the keyboard or camera... There are some interesting differences between classic (centralized platforms) and new, decentralized platforms in the way of interaction and engagement...

As we all already know, there is hard censorship all around the most popular social networks... And, usually, you as a creator, don't even know that you have been censored (or "silenced") because of the "shadow banning"... It's the thing that your video/post is "hidden" on purpose from the eyes of your viewers... It is maybe there, but "under the rock"... On decentralized networks, it is a bit different...

But, let's leave something for the video... I have touched some other topics also, as some small problems that every new platform has on the beginnings... Check out the video for more details...

Nope... I want more... :) You can swear and cuss, but only if you are aware of what was INSIDE the post... 🤣 🤣

Actually, it reminds me of school days... and children that likes to "be first", "teacher's favorites", etc... and I hated them... lol...

The walkings are empowering you and your videos!
Even the other day Crowsin was complaining about the "count me in" comments on the wheels of engagement..My bet is they don't even watch the wheel spinning! lol
Haters gonna hate but my mind is at peace when I give a proper comment and rant others!
If I don't have something "nice" to say, better say nothing at all ;)

Fresh air indeed works much better than when I'm inside my home... So, I blame the government for all those bad videos from this lockdown period... 🤣 🤣

great video.
I agree, numbers are actually people, let;s not focus on the numbers
but on the people. Engagement is better than any numbers.

PS. dang, you are a fast walker.

Exactly... and focus on those that are interested in the content and engagement... Those are the people that take action, and ideal for business, and not just business... They CARE!

Thanks for the comment!

Yes, you don't even know what's going on behind the scenes on centralized platforms. Good news! We have Hive. You enjoy the freedom of sharing and connecting with amazing people all over the world.

Hey amazing post, please follow me, I will follow you back...

... Hi, hi just kidding ;-)

It's always a pleasure to watch your videos.

On some of my posts, I read comments where you can see within two seconds that the author of the comment actually didn't read the post at all. Why do people spend time to give a comment on something that they didn't take time to read or watch?

For me it's a sign that somebody doesn't really care about me or what I have to say. They may have another motive. Maybe they excpect to get some upvotes or traffic to their own post or somebody told them that they needed to write a certain amount of comments. Whatever their motive is, their work is contraproductive because their message is "Hey notice me but honestly I don't care about you or about your message".

I concur with you, when speaking about interaction it's not about quantity but about quality. This is true not only on the recieving end but also on the giving end. I prefer to give ony 5 comments per day but comments on posts that I read completely, rather than 10 superficial ones just to please somebody.

Well, there are different motives and I DO understand why people do that... But, as I said in the vlog, it is a short term "vision" which has no sense at all... Seen that many times in the past... You will get breadcrumbs and stay in the ditch where you were before...

On the other side, I respect others' time and understand that we can't read ALL posts here, but if I didn't read it, I will not comment... It's a kind of insult against the author to do that...

Well you need to give us Content that we can actually Comment on rather than a walk filled with fluff with much to do about nothing lol J/K ;)
Seriously, you are right there is just way too many people saying "good post", "bravo", "Follow me I will Follow you" etc..etc..and that's it.

To be honest , I think a majority of people on social media are in it for themselves. So they become very short sighted and just do the bare minimum Comments to try to get exposure. Honestly, I do not see how a video about the subject will change anything at least not anytime soon. Sad but so true.

Oh and good post :)

hehehe... Agree on everything that you said... I know that this post will not change a lot, but maybe someone will get the point and change... And if that is just a 1 person, I'm happy with the result... :) That means that we will get 1 person more to discuss, interact and exchange opinions...

To be honest , I think a majority of people on social media are in it for themselves. So they become very short sighted and just do the bare minimum Comments to try to get exposure.

I'm not sure that they doing that for exposure... I mean, to get attention... I think that the motive is or the possible upvote (here on Hive), or a number of followers (on LBRY, as you are rewarded for reaching certain number of followers)... So, it's incentivized by money, which can be bad, but on the other side, it doesn't have to...

Still, I think it is not a bad thing to do this kind of posts to raise awareness about the RESPECT and APPRECIATION of authors and other members of the community...
