Weedcash community/admin call - Rethink curation and marketing across all of hive
Alright folks, When I start most of this post I sent it in discord to the team and stakeholders on discord but I feel I could make better use of this making a post. I will quote the parts I made on discord and then the new parts you can tell.
The first thing I never did in discord and I should have started with it was a huge thanks to @coffeebuds aka Richard @thelogicaldude @jonyoudyer for the work they are doing for weedcash. This post is meant to give a boost to what the community and everyone can help weedcash.
Also would like to see where Weedcash stands on even go any place? I get thoughts of no investing more and I don't see any outside talks on Weedcash from anyone. I don't see any active admins besides Jon and seems now the 2 working on Weedcash are getting into more projects that are just putting Weedcash on the back burner!
This was a rant that we need to see more activity from the admin and the team that is working on weedcash. When I was working closely with smoke this is the one thing that is killing small projects. the fact that the team is not active in any sense the community starts to lose a lot of faith. I see on very active community wise and off-chain but I do not see the rest of the weedcash admin here at all, and this is becoming a problem. I know we are all very busy in our real life and other projects but engagement is a huge thing to keep people coming back to the platform. I think it would be nice if we can see some of the admin commenting on some of the posts.
These are my thoughts and would love to see some actual feedback from the @Admin of Weedcash.
I was able to get some feedback on this from @logicaldude so I am happy for that and it seems he is working on a way to interact on weedcash.org so that is a plus.
I have tried to share other ways we can market Weedcash for free, All I keep seeing is pushing on hive and that's getting nothing, This is actually one of hives biggest problem is the marketing to other hive people.
The problem is Weedcash name is not around at all and the biggest problem is hive people thinking that they shouldn't be on mainstream when it is free marketing and the whole class of people we are targeting. Hive as a whole has this huge problem with link dropping and spamming to other hive ecosystems and that is useless.
Now to the next thing from the engagement from the admins is the off-chain marketing, I am not talking about link dumps to try to get other hive groups to vote for your post. I am talking about posting and using mainstream places like
Facebook groups, Reddit groups, Instagram, these are all free places that we all could be in talking up weedcash.
This is a huge thing I see with the hive community is they want to just link dump for votes but not go into crypto groups and talk up the project and the great things that the blockchain has to offer. The fact that we all hate to use these places they are used by the masses and that includes crypto and cannabis people so it is the best form of free marketing we can use.
- Auto-post your post to Twitter, This is easy to do using buffer. Make sure to use #cannabis #weedcash #hive tags
- Make some engagement of facebook/reddit/twitter/instagram cannabis groups without looking spammy. Take 10 mins a day to leave a few comments looking mainly for a post about censorship.
- Use other places that will get link views like using publish0x, noise.cash, read.cash. These will bring in other crypto people that may not know about weedcash/hive.

When it comes to the feed it is sad at times like very sad, Now I know that the hive thoughts are 300+ word posts to it don't belong on hive but I for one say FUCK that stupidity and it is what holds hive back. The thoughts I have is all post should be welcome from questions/microblogging like Twitter to Instagram style post to blog-style post. When you look at Reddit it has all styles of posts. this means I think people couple be posting full grow logs like @jonyoudyer to Instagram style post with what your smoking and some nice dialogue to go along with it and I think we can get this to help fill the feed even with the 20-30 people that we have posting legit.
I would just like to see some other people posting even what they are smoking or growing or anything Weedcash new related.
Alright this is where I would like to give a huge thanks to @jonyoudyer for doing a great job on the curation for weedcash. I would like to say quite a bit about the weedcash curation accounts and the auto votes tho. This in my eyes is one of the things that is ruining the engagement here on weedcash. Some of the accounts are trending right when they post just because of this autovote and not because the content is liked.
The whole Weedcash curation needs a revamp and no one should be getting auto votes of 150 Weedcash from the Weedcash accounts.
The vote should be focused on the content more than loyalty with the curation accounts. I think we can see some guidelines put in place for the curation accounts for weedcash. I have brought this up before but never in a post.
- microblogging - really earns small rewards like 1-5%
- Instagram - style post with 50 words and 1 photo 5-20%
- Small blog - 20-50%
- medium style blog - 200-400 words 50-75%
- long style blog post- 400+ words 75-100% and this is the only post that should earn 100% rewards from curation accounts.
These are all suggestions and I hope to not step on anyone's efforts to make weedcash better.
I would love to hear the whole communities thoughts on this with hive and weedcash and the other tribes. I know engagement is a problem across all of hive as well as the link dumping and not enough people talking about hive outside the ecosystem.
I agree with some points, not all, but I will also say that just because admins are not actively posting, doesn’t mean things aren’t happening in the background. There is allot in building a social media network and we don’t have time to make posts all the time.
Yes I have other projects going, but in no way is weedcash on the back burner. It’s shouldn’t all be up to a couple of people to keep the thing alive. It should be up to all of us! I am also trying to help build a whole economy and way for people to do commerce. Which Weedcash was the first store and is a big part of the other platforms.
I do agree with the microblogging and Instagram type posts. I don’t feel everything has to be some long drawn out post. If you are going to short post, at least make it a meaningful post.

As you can see the account is mainly dedicated to marijuana. From it I have organized contests that have had good participation. Well, when I tried to inform about WeedCash and the blockchain, only two people took the step to register in Hive, they did not succeed and none of them have asked again. However they continue to post daily several times on Instagram.

As far as posting in WeedCash when the post is about other subjects, I did it by mistake, they explained to me that I had to stick to the community topic and so I am doing it.
Any efforts you give to the community is appreciated. The blockchain is not going to be for everyone. Most people will still be sheep and follow the herd to their centralized BS networks. All that matters is you tried. I am trying to build a bit more user friendly way to get involved in to community first then you can interact with the blockchain when you choose to. So hopefully that will help bring in new users. Honestly the blockchain is too confusing for allot of general stoners, lol, so I am trying to make it easier.
As far as post subjects, we like to try and keep things on topic because allot of people will just throw tags on a post to try and milk the rewards pools, which we don't want to see, so we ask you to keep your weedcash posts about Cannabis, related topics, psychedelics, etc.
All the help spreading the name on other forms of social media, It is a struggle to get anyone to join but the more they hear or see people talk the more they are to come check it out.
Yeah I can see a few accounts that are getting some big auto votes, and sometimes those same accounts will post way off topic. Which is why I would love to see more flags. It’s nothing personal, just stay on topic.
As far as dictating the % of votes, I can see where your coming from, but anybody can choose how they vote, just as they can choose what to flag.
I was saying for the curation account vote. This is basically eliminated with the auto vote taken off as then the curation team aka you 🤣 get to set % this also stops the same accounts automatically going to trending every time they post. This was the same issue on smoke one person set the trending, We see the same thing here now with the auto vote.

The it does ha e it a pros and cons, that’s for sure. I think if one was to auto vote, just make sure you know what you are voting, or look at what you have voted, so that way if it was something you did not want voted, you can remove it. Especially if you voted on a post that does not belong on the said tribe.
Ps what canna votes on weedcash is about 90-95% manual
