Vermont Stills (Set)

(Edited)

These shots are from a couple of different trips to Vermont. I've finally edited some of these shots. Many were just begging and I haven't had the motivation to give them the time. I hope you enjoy a small tour through a few great spots in VT. This first shot is from Lake Willoughby and one of my most favorite pictures ever.

Evening at Smugglers Notch

We actually stayed at Smugglers Notch during one trip. The property is beautiful and the staff were excellent. We had a really great time. These two shots of last light capture that mountain magic.

Lake Willoughby

The water at Lake Willoughby is crystal clear. The lake was formed by a slow moving glacier that cut the valley you see here.

The Silos of Cambridge

The town of Cambridge received a grant from the Vermont Fine Arts council to preserve and turn these silos into works of art. The artist did an absolutely fantastic job with these murals.

One From Lake Champlain
This was one of my favorite shots from the lake. It's beauty is unsurpassed and has the same crystal clear waters. You're easily able to see 8+ feet down on a sunny day.

Shit man love all these pictures! I have absolutely been missing out on lake Willoughby! The scenery looks amazing and the water being that clear is crazy. I think we are definitely going to add it to our list of places to go this summer. I’m going to look up how far it is from our house right now lol.

The house falling into the water cracks me up. Scary as hell but some of these old properties will do that!

@galenkp it looks like I will get a chance after all to see some really badass mural silos like you shared from your drive a while back! That’s awesome and it’s not too far lol.

Really appreciate you putting these out there, love Vermont so much.

Thank you! Willoughby is a gem. I'll tell you Champlain is tons of fun and beautiful too. I'm shocked at how clean the water is but VT has some pretty strong environmental laws that keep it that way. I'm hearing your supposed to quarantine or have a negative test but the ski resorts are packed with flatlanders. I'm going to check out @galenkp to see what silos he found. It seems like such a great idea. If you do visit, make sure you get some good shots and share!

This is the post of them down in Australia. They were awesome just like the ones you shared!

I looked up Willoughby and it’s on the way up to Newport but off the highway so that’s why I didn’t make it there before. I like how it’s pretty close off 91 though!

Champlain is a beautiful lake but I haven’t been there to see it in years. I went there with my dad once as a teenager for a fishing tournament he wanted to see so that was cool but I don’t remember much lol. It’s indeed a great looking lake!

That poor old boathouse has seen better days! Those silos are pretty damn cool, too. Definitely better than just letting the structures fall apart.

I love the sag of that boathouse, hahah the gentle curve of its inevitability. I agree with you, turning those silos into art is a very VT thing to do. They do tend to spend money on projects like that. Some of the ski towns have local art all around the town. They support local.
