My lovely daughter-in-law went on a photo walk in her northside Chicago neighborhood this weekend and sent me some great shots to share with you!

This garage door Calaveras art is wearing a Chicago city flag as his face mask.

The three white stripes on the flag represent the North, West, and South sides. The top blue stripe represents Lake Michigan and the North Branch of the Chicago River. The bottom blue stripe represents the South Branch of the river and the canal. The four six-pointed red stars represent major historical events: Fort Dearborn, the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893, and the Century of Progress Exposition of 1933–34.

Some nice photos she took, but I have one question, how come the Chicago Flag does not represent the East side? or do they consider the east side the same as Lake Michigan?

Thanks, Jo! This entire year has felt so surreal. My best friend is coming over on Saturday and I am looking forward to seeing her! She lives 3 hours away now and I haven't seen her since this all began. We think we have a strategy figured out where we will both be safe and able to visit, while keeping a safe distance.

Thanks! I wish I could get her interested in joining Hive, but I am happy that she likes sharing her photos with me! Especially now, when I am stuck at home and my photo opportunities are more limited.

I love her photos! She is a great photographer, and she knows that I am limited with the photos I can take in my house and yard! She has found some great shadow photos for us to use, too!
