WHAT'S THE PRICE TO PAY FOR SUCCESS?

If you had to survey your city right now and asking people if they wanted to succeed or not, chances are 100% would say 'yes.' Although success might mean different things to different people, it is tied to the idea of achieving something difficult or impossible.

Now if you asked those set of persons what they are doing each day to make sure they succeed, chances are a majority will have nothing to say. To dream is quite easy. The challenge for every individual is bringing into fruition that which we desire.

Most people never achieve anything meaningful because they are unwilling to pay the costly price for success, which is often a gamble. There are no guarantees in life. Knowing this and still pursue a goal/dream seems quite counterintuitive.

The other day I was listening to Jordan Peterson speak about what it takes to be successful. He mentioned that most successful men had to make huge sacrifices to attain a certain level of success.

These sacrifices would have meant depriving themselves of the things they care about--love, family, friends etc most people go overboard by totally isolating themselves from the world to achieve great feats.

The road to success is often narrow and lonely. Sometimes this even happens unintentionally. Today I was having a conversation with someone close to me and this person pointed out how much I have neglected certain aspects of my life.

I was taken aback by this realization and promise to make amends. I have been so driven for the past 2-3months now that it has made me relegate every other thing to the backseat.

Then I asked myself: Would I have achieved these great feats if I wasn't committed to the course? The answer is 'no.' I most likely would be lackadaisical towards life and everything around me, even myself.

However, chasing my dreams ensures that I change my life for the better. This might involve not having time for socializing, it might involve not spending time with family and friends. It is the price I have had to pay.

Do I have any regrets? Not much. I don't feel like I have missed out so much from the world. Everything would happen in due season. My primary goal is to stay focused on my goal.

In my opinion, that's the best course of action at your age. Partying and having fun all your twenties would be one of the most serious mistakes you can make if you do not wish to have a hard time when you're older.

lol, i certainly dont want to have a hard time now or even at my old age so I am setting my priorities right. At the same time, I do not want to neglect the people who matter the most to me. i have to find some form of balance and that involves proper time management

Achieving ones goal is a very fulfilling thing. However I often wonder what happens when you've achieved the goal but find out you pushed everyone important to you away in the process?

it is a costly price, one often not worth it. at the end of the day we all need the love and support that comes with creating strong relationships

to me chasing success is always about freedom I don't have big ambitions or anything just living life with peace of mind is enough for me but that the goal I think everyone wants to achieve isn't it? and its the hard one

Unfortunately, we have to buy and fight for our peace. The gatekeepers of this world have made things nearly impossible.

'We only suffer because we desire'

When you consider this statement you see the futility of our pursuit. Nothing is enough for the most part and we keep chasing

Most people want to be successful but are not willing to pay the price. They are not taking steps to achieving that success. All they do is wish for it. Even the bible says faith without work is dead.
