Mass Indoctrination Day 8: July 18 2021

The indoctrination of today started off from where it stopped yesterday, talking about us doing good in every opportunity we have. Doing good in this case means dealing with other people with kindness, doing good works. Our works go a long way in affirming our profession of faith. If we say we believe, but we lack in good works, then our salvation is questionable.

As much as we are enjoined to do good to those in the household of faith, we are also required to do good to all men, even those who we consider as antagonists, or enemies.

These our acts of kindness must spread round - from our relatives, to friends, neighbours, the needy in our neighborhood, and so on.

Our good works serves as light, shining in the darkness of this world. Jesus admonished us to shine our light, and this is what our good works are meant to do. We have to obligation to shine our lights by practicing the words of Jesus Christ, because God is glorified in our good works.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. - Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV)

A poor man appreciates greatly any little act of kindness done to him, but a wealthy man may not be impressed even if you try to impress him with many gifts. Therefore, our acts of kindness should be directed towards those who are less privileged, and who are more likely to received God's word with humility. We must not be like those who claim to know God, but have no works to show for it.
Is God glorified by your works?

The Result of Doing Good Works and Shinning our Light

When we do good, we will be able to persuade others that we are doing the right thing, walking in the way of righteousness, and they will be ready to follow that same path. God is interested in every new soul that repents. Therefore, doing good works will help us to please God.

God takes so much delight in every sinner that repents, so if by our works we are able to bring others unto repentance, God is delighted in our works, and we would be saving souls from death/damnation.

Thanks be to God.
