This Pub will open weekly with the purpose of acting as a place to meet, socialize, exchange information, get free stuff, you get the idea for HIVE's sake!

Want to be the face of this Pub's image?

We are asking for applications to create images for AteXoras Pub. Can be an NFT (donated to @atexoras.pub), or a direct share with all rights and exclusivity mentioned/negotiated with @forykw (the Pub manager).

Drop any intentions below mentioning the manager, please. For now, we will just use the same opening image, with some extra painting on it... for hints about any applications!

We can donate 10% of this post curation for applicants when using their image for example. I can also rotate between creator's images... not yet defined. Depends on what's coming.

For example, HIVE-Engine is now going towards the 1.5.0 fork (from 1.4.2), and slowly behind the scenes, things are just evolving.

SPS Airdrop is due by the end of the month! So exciting!

WAX CPU is gradually increasing like expected... it will get worse... like EOS!

@sentipl provided the actual code for the giveaway of the last gathering. So thank him for that! ;)

🤝 Sharing and Why?

Since the bound reason to run this Pub is to basically get more attention to HIVE within HIVE first, and then externally, it is obvious that sharing these gatherings will be important. Help out if you can.



This is also a place where potential new users can get quick attention. Hence, the Pub can be a great tool to quickly onboard more users. There are more people around, there are more eyes watching, etc.

👷‍♂️👷‍♀️ Looking for work?

The Pub is looking for employees. If you feel like you could help, submit your application below. We are looking for the following:

  • (active) 4 x Pub Admins (Core Team Members) - This will be an attempt to start building something for the AteXoras Pub. @forykw has other ideas but due to time constraints, expansion of those ideas requires a Team in order to go forward. And most likely the beginning of his Entrepreneur career? Who knows!
  • (active) Pub Helpers (currently unlimited) - These users will be given posting key authority and will be given the state of Pub Helpers on the Discord server. The idea is simple, help with what you can in terms of engagement or upvoting comments under the Pub posts (previous ones are valid too). Upvoting outside of the Pub is strictly discouraged (don't wanna say forbidden because you have that authority, but please don't do it) as it defeats the purpose of the Pub.

For now, every weekend (@forykw is on UTC+13) starting on Fridays with the intent of having the maximum exposure during the weekend time. Then, a few more extra days to cure the booze, and we are back again on Friday.

I usually like to show stuff that looks useful (not just for me) to many I see around. So, really appreciate it. I found it through another user that was using it and it was like... "That's what I need!"

Are you still taking any improvements or doing and dev on it? and is the code available for others?

I do agree that lots of things are happening on the blockchain right now. 😄

Positives

  • The price of HIVE increased by roughly 40% (and HBD is currently above its pegged price of $1).
  • #Splinterlands's DEC and Card prices have skyrocketed by 400% to 800%.
  • The number of signups on Hive increased a lot.

Negatives

  • Errors are happening on transactions on Hive (duplicated posts and comments, failed HIVE/HBD and Hive Engine token transactions)
  • Resource Credit requirement for every transaction slightly increased (which affect new users the most).

I would still say that the positives of current Hive events outweigh the negatives. 😏

Mate... you don't realize how positive are your negatives!

The errors were a consequence of lack of capacity from the servers... so that's amazing and expected and they were adjusted. You can't predict everyone to go 1000% capacity and pay for those resources without any need from the network. Of course the more contributors the less these differences will be noticed.

About the RC... all I wish is for them to SKY rocket! It's so easy to post... compared with EOS for example.

HIVE RC is super mega cheap!

I think that while having high Resource Credit costs would help Hive in general, it would be a burden to new users and those users who can't afford a lot of Hive Power.

Nahhh... to be honest its very cheap for new users, because they don't exhaust RC at the same rate things like bots and other service accounts do.

For perspective... currently 49 HIVE (which already a moderate amount of HP but less than 25$ in value), allows a current user to do in one go if he/she wants:

48 posts in a single second if he/she could. It's overkill even for new users. And if we count with the recharge rate:

Your recharge rate is 10.4M per day. Approx costs:

vote 0.07M
transfer 0.18M

Means that per day, a user can do around 10 posts/comments without running out of RC, continuously. It's too much for just 25$ worth of token to my view and this is in some situations an easy way for someone to just start messing around (because is so cheap). But maybe I am the one that does not blog, post a lot 🤣. Anyhow I don't think there are many that do way more than this. Most users just read and very occasionally comment.

Anyhow, even for new users I would be whiling to help a delegate HP to allow he/she to post (anyone)... if I know that person and I know its a regular user and he/she is not doing anything stupid, yeah, for sure, no brainer, I can delegate HP. Any 10 HP is sufficient for a user to post if for some reason its not being allowed, due RC.

Some new users won't spend $25 (or even $10 for roughly 20 Hive Power which allows roughly 4 posts or comments per day) to test out Hive. It's either they are still skeptical, does not have enough money, or both. I do believe that if those users get established on the Hive blockchain and see the benefits, they would invest into it (if they can).

I hope there would be more services like @giftgiver which provides free 15 Hive Power delegation for 7 days (which can be applied for again). However, I do know that services like that can be abused (especially by spammers).

Well, I am happy to help ANYONE that wants to try for 7 days for free too. They can't abuse because they can't get any rewards OUT... that's the reason for the 7 day period.

Anyhow, Most of the accounts get free HP from their referrals (once they post), and if they don't, it's quite easy to beg for some help nowadays. I don't bother if you know who you are bothering for (meaning I will check you out).

Either way, if you use referrals for other HIVE accounts, that problem does not even exist because the sponsoring account will look at you and give you some free HP to continue playing around.

Some people can abuse free HP delegations by creating lots of Hive accounts by just providing disposable email (through #Ecency, because #PeakD and #HiveOnboard require mobile phone numbers, which can be scarce), whose form of abuse is not necessarily reward farming but spamming or scamming.

Do you mean "referrers" instead of "referrals"? I don't know when a person gets free Hive Power for successfully referring users.

Monitoring each referral if they deserve to be delegated Hive Power can be easy if there are less than 10 referrals, but having a lot of referrals may need a bot's assistance that runs at specified periods (every hour for example).

Anyway, thanks for providing me a Hive account to play with for free.

No, I meant the persons that use your referrals (😅) and its not automatic, no. Its manual, hence can't be abused. You don't get any free HIVE power too.

What I meant to say here, is that if I see a user that used my referral and needs more HP because its doing something normal, and either I see it or he/she calls me up, I am happy to provide it freely.

But yeah, it can be challenging. But this is a great community because we are always adapting to challenges.

If you had about 50 referred users, you might not be able to monitor their use of your delegated Hive Power one by one (unless you have a lot).

Correct! =)

I can do monitor them, not saying its not hard, but can be done. In terms of HP, I have enough to make it happen (anyone can check anyone's HP, liquid, etc, its all public), and if I need to delegate a lot, I will just buy more to continue the effort. You basically keep an eye on the ones that are active. And disregard the ones that are not, until they make some loud noise.

A bot (or just a script) running about once per hour would help a lot with monitoring each of your referrals if you have 100+ referred accounts.

Anyway, I don't think you need to buy or power up more Hive Power just to continue delegating to users in need, since 100 referred users would just need about 2,000 Hive Power.
