An Entertaining Song For Celebrating "National Taffy Day" 🍬
I think I have mentioned before that I now have the popular "NOW TV" channels here in the United Kingdom. My local TV News channels often mention silly or amusing Topical events. You can learn about all kinds of strange things, just by watching the weird "off beat" channels.
Today I learned that it is "National Taffy Day" 🍬
This enjoyable sweetie event is also listed on the "National Holiday" Calendar for Sunday 23rd May 2021. So I thought it would be cool to know some more about this Topical Candy event.
Below is some enjoyable "Food For Thought" info...
Taffy has a long history as one of America’s native sweets. Common lore has it that in the 1880s, a Jersey Shore candy shop got flooded, soaking the shop’s taffy stock with Atlantic salt water. On a lark, the owner sold the candy as “saltwater taffy” and an American delicacy was born!
Today it’s often sold on boardwalks up and down the Eastern seaboard of the U.S. and has even found its way to landlocked candy shops. National Taffy Day is a day to indulge in the sweet pastime of unwrapping that twisty wax paper and popping a chewy bit of taffy into your mouth.
