With a document titled “Building resilience: WWF recommendations for a just & sustainable recovery after Covid-19”, WFF joins calls on the EU and its member states to ensure that future economic stimulus plans are fully aligned with the objectives of the European Green Deal and cautions that badly designed economic stimulus programmes risk exacerbating social inequalities and the environmental crisis.

Polluters see coronavirus as chance to lobby against climate policies (edie)

• The UK-based thinktank InfluenceMap has begun assessing corporate lobbying that is responding to the Covid-19 crisis and is calling out those that have been reportedly “taking advantage” of the chaos caused by the coronavirus outbreak, such as oil and gas groups and automotive coalitions which have been calling for relaxed or postponed environmental regulations as response mechanisms to the virus.

England invests £3.25m to redistribute surplus food during outbreak (Food & Drink International)

• Due to the lockdown forcing restaurants in England to close, there has been a massive spike in surplus food over the last few weeks which the government is addressing in a £3.25m grant aimed at supporting food distribution organisations across England to cut food waste and redistribute surplus stock during the coronavirus outbreak.
