Starting A Business | Vital Things To Note

Your boss is freaking you out, your working hours are too tight, you are drained mentally, your pay is barely keeping you afloat and you think, Why can't I become my own boss and start my own business? Well you are like most people out there that are ready to leave their 9-5 working brackets, be their own boss, work on their clock and earn as much as they want. But before you venture in there are certain things you should know before taking that big "I am an entrepreneur" leap.

First would be asking yourself what exactly are you bringing to the table. There are a million or perhaps even a trillion of products out there doing a trillion things and the market is already saturated with them. So as an entrepreneur you need to go from creating a bunch of recycled old junk to problem solving I.e something different. You have to be innovative and think deeply, what are problems people are facing, how can I solve them or perhaps how can I make an already existing product even better and more appealing. In the long run, whatever you do you have to be innovative and creative in your approach to doing them.

Secondly, you have to be ready to take huge risks. Your idea may fall down the drain and make absolutely nothing in return costing you to loose money and wonder what exactly is going on. You are not a failure, you just have to access your idea all over again and sort out where you went wrong, where you could have done better and pick yourself up. Don't fall for that marketing scheme that entrepreneurs made it immediately, that's a big fat lie. There are no shortcuts to success or overnight success tricks. You have to be ready to fail and fail again but most importantly you have to learn to continuously improve and learn from your mistakes. You should be ready mentally because constant failure could cause you to get depressed and even want to drop it all and run. Learn to take breaks, relax your mind or even travel to a different city if possible to get your brain breathing and motivated.

Thirdly you need to know your audience, who this product or idea you have created will appeal to. How your product will meet their demands or beat the existing market. You may not be able to conduct a market research but you could test them out on friends or family or even yourself, would you buy this product? By understanding your audience you will be able to tailor your product and marketing skills better to get them hooked on your product. Understanding them would help you build a network of loyal customers that would spread the gospel about your product.

You also have to develop skills relevant to your business like marketing skills, sales skills and other skills that would help boost your profit significantly. In all you need a fighting spirit, never give up attitude and ready to work extra hours to get your business standing on it's feet to achieve that "money working for you" title. It may take years, lots of efforts and hard work but don't give up and eventually you will smile to the bank.

I do understand the urge to quit the 9 to 5 job and go for our own, but do we have what it takes to jump?

This is a big dilemma, many are in that search of a business that keeps them afloat and not only that, but gives them free time to do other things. Unfortunately the reality is that starting any business always requires a lot of time and risk, and there is no guarantee of success, even if it is something innovative, the market can move in ways that we do not understand, really
