CONTRACEPTION

At the joe Rogan show, Jordan (a man whose reputation for mansplaining had earned him a lot of dislike among the liberals and the left) explained that the adverse effect of the 60year old solution to the reproductive problem to women (contraception) was causing a problem in human societies that no one was ready to address. The problem was the increased acceptance of polygamy which was thought to be dealt with by marriage. The problem had somehow resurfaced. Jordan stressed how this could have major effects on the children from these polygamous homes who usually develop anxiety.

Joe Rogan explained how women had made a decision (consciously or subconsciously) to be with men who were higher in the hierarchy regardless of if they were sharing them. He continued that some of his friends had even had a vasectomy (surgical sterilization) so they wouldn't have children. Those other men were simply seen as less desirable.

My problem in all this is how I am supposed to have a say. It is almost as if I'm a mouse in an experiment. Growing up in an era gives you the impression that that is the only ere that ever existed. I was talking to some men in their late '30s and early '40s I met at the barber's shop. They said that they first heard about condoms when they were children. Then I thought back to when I was a child and we found condoms…dozens of them in a drum. I only got to find out that the balloons that we thought were oily for no reason were to prevent pregnancy in my early secondary school years.

The me who is a serial monogamist feels stupid at the thought of the pleasure and painless lifestyle of hypergamy. Before the '60s, relationships were relatively simple. You meet a girl. You like each other. You date her. You get married. Relationships have increasingly become more complex. I mean one thing for sure is that sex doesn't serve the role it did in the past. Love has less meaning. It's the way with society. It first started with the death of God and now everything else dies with him. I mean if God is love and God is dead in our modern society then…I mean…what else is going to be left?
