Your Perspective Of Life

Have you ever sat to think about why some people behave the way they do? I mean, have you actually sat down to give a thought to reasons behind the reactions of people to things or situations in life...to as simple as day to day activities? Well, I do sometimes especially when someone behaves in a manner that is just difficult to process. However, I have come to understand that 80% how a person behaves or reacts is majorly dependent on what is happening within.

When you finally learn that a person’s behavior has more to do with their own internal struggle than it ever did with you, you learn grace." - Allison Aars

"Oh, I said hi but she didn't respond. Was it because I didn't help her during over time yesterday when she asked. Well, I don't care...I would not bother next time?"

Whereas, this person A is complaining about didn't even notice A was there at all. She had only just received bad news, and her morning was not a happy one. But A as already concluded and judged on what she thought was the problem. Many a times, we give ourselves too much credit when we think "ah, it is because of me...ah, it is because I said that", when in fact this other person is just going through a rough patch at the moment. It was never about you but them, about their struggles, pain, sadness, bad news....and the only thing you may have said or done was trigger those feelings.

Don't be to quick to judge but instead try to understand or at least make excuses for them.

Understanding this would go a long way in helping you ignore unnecessary thoughts or feelings you may have as a result this. Moreso, you can find ways to assist or ease their struggles in the little way you can...even if it's just with your kind words.

I partially agree about trying to understand people, but it’s also important to respect your own time and energy. When people become unclear for too long you might want to consider staying away from them as what is true and good will make sure you know it is so.

Oh yes, exactly....you are right about this. You trying to understand should not make you loose your own peace. You give excuses or try to understand them because they might just be having a bad day. But when it persist, especially when it is just the character of this person to behave in a "toxic" manner then you should definitely stay clear.

I appreciate your comment. 🌺
