Shower thought: Why are people buying PAL?

avatar

By PAL, I am referring to the hive-engine token of palnet.io.

Let's be honest. I slap the pal tag on my posts. You slap the pal tag on your posts. And those who don't probably haven't heard of HIVE ENGINE tokens!

And we all dump it in the hive - engine market. It's literally free money. But if we dump, somebody buys it, since it hasn't hit zero after so long.

Yeah, I get it, it's the first tribe to ever come out. But does anyone actually use the front end? Are there any real plans? Are there buy backs from ad revenue? Do they even have a real community like neoxian, ctp and archon?

Am I missing something?

Why would anyone buy that shit?

Oh well, time for my daily dump :D

1.6 hive for just slapping a tag? I'll take it!

P.S: Check the leo twitter if you haven't, khal has teased some sexy things for the future of LEO :)

I didn't now tags were that lucrative. Do other tags like neoxian bring any benefits ?

I have always staked mine, except for some I sold at the very beginning before I knew what tribe tokens really were.

I like it, not for the token price, but because I support the ethos, their inclusiveness, and I join in on their Discord as well.

As an added bonus, many new tribes/tokens base their initial airdrops on PAL holdings.

I do not sell hands at all of what I receive (am I wrong? Possible). I keep 2000 PAL tokens in the hope that something will happen someday. But objectively there is no news gap.

The Discord channel, on the other hand, is very active

It seems like I have been missing out. In my main posts normally I only use art related tags.

Master please teach me more ways of getting free money- we lithuanians like free things as well.

Didn't even know they had a front end, this stuff happened long before I joined Hive.
And yes, I put Palnet in every article I do, because well, it's free money and I like free money. So keep buying guys, it'll moon eventually!

Fairly sure there is a hive-engine ad revenue programme. Uses revenue to buy back and burn tribe tokens if you have set up that way.

The token does nothing but it might still be enough to keep it above zero. Tag everything with palnet. Free crypto is free crypto.

Some of these tokens could really build themselves up if they tried, even through just a vibrant community. With PAL I don’t really see the point. I’m sure they could come up with something, they are capable people but I guess they have too much going on with other projects.

Lol I was using the wrong tag “PAL”

I think it was a solid project in the beginning, it just lacked the right management. But I believe overtime it might do well.

Yes, it was the first token we got airdropped back when steem-engine first became a thing.

I staked my tokens because I wasn't really sure what else to do with them, and I have seldom found that joining the selling frenzy immediately after an airdrop is particularly lucrative. In due course, that staking was a good choice because several subsequent communities based their airdrops on whether you had PAL staked. As I recall, I think even SteemLeo. So that worked out well.

Aside from that, I have a certain (potentially misplaced?) loyalty to that community because my original Steem account benefited greatly from the Minnow Support Program (MSP) which was certainly a substantial part of why I didn't just give up and leave after a short while. Besides, I support the fundamental "Peace, Abundance, Liberty" ethos... although not much of that offers a financial reason to hold PAL tokens.

So why DO I hold on to PAL? I suppose because I also hold on to the idea that with a higher Hive price, we already know activity levels rise, and with a greater number of newcomers the MSP group might be inspired to kick back into life AND perhaps use the PAL front end as a material part of encouraging newcomers... and that'll send the token price upwards.

That's probably just "dreaming of Unicorns," mind you...

you spilled the beans lol. I sell mine to buy leo. But I do wonder if there are any coins to accumulate other than leo?

Nice to see some tags where to spread our content. At the moment there are few communities where I keep and stake the tokens like CTP, PAL, NEOXIAN, SPORT and SPT. I got more than $10 worth of value as a threshold on which I keep my crypto. The others are still gathering dust and I'll see in the future if I sweep them.

I've powered it always up, don't know why, but most things on HE,i just powered up, not that I think they will make me in 3-4 years rich. I might sell them now that you have underlined it.

I ask myself that question for almost every tribe token.
To me most tribe tokens seem to be hollow bubbles that will burst, once people realize there's no actual use to them (and never will be).

Lol. I have kept mine and just do. Leo was airdropped according to what stake you had on Pal and why some missed their Leo originally. I tend to keep whatever is free and you just don't know. I wouldn't buy any though as why would anyone. Who knows maybe they have a top secret plan.

I love classic furniture, old cars and this coin lol.
I feel good with 76 thousands of coins from an air drop) There were 83,000, but the guys very stupidly announced the rules for going to the Beehive, and I lost 15,000 coins, but, I don’t regret, I bought them for a penny and, already got it back them. About half of the Leo, I have on a daily basis and rely on the price of PAL 0.7 Hive at least. I think I am not alone in this.
For me, this investment is more profitable than an investment, say, in a BRO, or in a similar enterprise. But, everything is optional, I had time)

I'm slowly building Bro, it looks like a great initiative but quite pricey. 8:1 but we will get there. I want to reach my Leo goal of 1000 first. I keep getting side tracked with d.city and other coins. D.city hasn't been that good for me as yet.

Lately I stopped adding these tags to my posts because I thought they were dead and buried. I may start again after reading this. Thanks for the reminder!

When PAL came out, I immediately bought 60 PALMM for 100 Steem each. Holy shit did I regret it very quickly. I still have like 34 staked. I'll probably get ROI in about 100 years.

On the other hand, I bought 767 LEOM for 2 Hive each, 133 LEOM for 4.49 each, and 11.79 LEOMM for 8 each. (total spent, 2227.11 Hive)

That worked out a LOT better for me. Hehe

I do the same, I even have PAL miners left over from when it first launched. But now that I hit 30,000 PAL I dump mine as I really don't hear anything going on over there anymore.

But you're right someone is buying it up! Otherwise the price would have hit zero long ago.

Haha, I have to agree & admit that I have no clue what Pal actually is. Saw someone using this tag, so I gave it a shot. Btw. Buy-Leo-Call was okay :D +1 for you

This sounds familiar to how I do this :)

I still see loods of movement also in the MSP/PAL Discord so maybe they are still on the built of something we dont know.

But yeah always use it and getting some tokens and have some in the staking still

I have a portion of mine staked and I have some sitting liquid. I don't usually use the tag because I try not to just tag stuff randomly. Well, most of the time. I used to hang out in their Discord but not as much lately. It is just too entertaining in the Leo Discord!

Initially I purchased PAL (some 200 may be 100 steem flushed), then I get frustrated and unstaked my PAL and sold it.
After few days I saw that PAL price was halved , I bought back twice. I have no idea why I stake PAL.

I think there is a small belief that if Aggy is planning something new or fancy or FOMO kind of stuff, he would first do it for his own tribe which is Palnet.io. That is one of the biggest reasons why many people are holding their PAL tokens tight. Many people farmed these tokens by chatting on MSP server.

Hope soon something good happens around this community and the price rises back from its ashes. But there is already a big supply for a less demand.
