Hello Lions! It's time for another #crypthursday where we'll take a look at some of the most relevant crypto facts that happened in the last few days. Our focus is on our beloved Hive blockchain but we can also cover some facts off-chain when they are relevant enough.

And let's kick things off with something that many have been looking forward to! I know I have!

CubFinance Full Kingdoms Launch

The LeoFinance team, who is also behind CubFinance has just announced the full launch of CUB Kingdoms! This is an important step to bring long-term sustainability to CubFinance which will of course benefit everyone who has CUB staked.

Here are the main changes that were introduced with the latest updates but make sure to check out the official announcement by the @leofinance team!

  • Cub Kingdom update = 2x higher rewards
  • Deprecation of BTC Den
  • Deprecation of ETH Den
  • Deprecation of USDT-BUSD farm
  • Deprecation of DAI-BUSD farm
  • Launch of BUSD-USDC-DAI-USDT kingdom
  • Launch of BTC kingdom
  • Launch of ETH kingdom
  • Kingdoms UI update
  • Migration of multipliers to the kingdom contract
  • Miscellaneous tweaks/bug fixes

They also updated the roadmap for the next releases:

And by the way, you will need to add liquidity on Belt.fi to stake on the new Kingdoms and while that's not exactly hard to do, it's been confusing some people. @scaredycatguide put together this nice tutorial on how to add liquidity on belt.fi and stake beltUSD on Cub that can be very helpful to find your way around in that platform!

I'm very excited about the recent updates and what is yet to come, especially the BNB rewards. CubFinance is shaping up to become the ultimate #defi solution!

HBD stabilizing?

The Hive Back Dollar (HBD) was designed to be a stable coin, meaning 1 HBD should always be the equivalent of 1 dollar worth of HIVE but if you have been around for a few months you probably know that wasn't the case. Since it was launched varied in a range as wide as $0.4 to $3.97, which simply defeated its purpose.

However, with the recent changes, it seems to be reaching a degree of stability that we haven't seen before, at least not for a long time. It's still too soon to call it a stable coin, but it looks like things are going that way.

If you want to know more about HBD make sure to check out this article where @taskmaster4450 talks about it in more detail and also this article where @dalz analyses how much HBD was transferred to Savings after Hardfork 25, which made it so only HBD in savings generate interest.

LBI opens up a new vote on dividends

Three months have passed since the last vote, where #lbi holders decided to postpone dividend payments, and now it's time for a new vote so if you are an LBI holder make sure to go to the official vote post and comment with your vote.

Remember:

  • Vote YES if you want to postpone dividend payments for at least another 3 months.
  • Vote NO if you want dividends to be paid weekly, starting on the 1st of August.

More details on the proposal and voting weights can also be found in the official post.

Pick of the week

If you saw the new updated #CubFinance roadmap, you probably noticed that there is an upcoming feature: an IDO launchpad for token launches! But what the heck even is an IDO?

Well, that's literally what @finguru answers in this great article! While we should hear more details about the CUB IDO tomorrow, this is a great post to get ahead of things and understand in general terms what an IDO really is. Make sure you check it out!

I guess that's it for this week, but of course, I can't wrap things up before introducing this week's selection for our traditional #CocktailFriday!

And the winner is...

The Mint Julep

I dedicate this cocktail to one of the @leomarkettalk regulars, @kevinnag58 who is having a birthday and also is a bourbon fan! I have a feeling he will prefer to enjoy his bourbon neat but still, this one is for you, my friend!

So here's what you need:

  • 8 mint leaves
  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 ounces bourbon

Instructions:

Add the syrup to a glass, put the mint leaves in there and lightly muddle the leaves. You don't want to shred them, so apply only enough force to extract that minty essence.

Add the bourbon and then add as much crushed ice as you can fit in there. Stir it gently until chilled and you're done!

Actually, if you want, you can garnish with a mint sprig and a few drops of Angostura bitters, but those are optional!

This is a nice and refreshing cocktail so I hope you all enjoy it and join me tomorrow on our daily @leomarkettalk post for a great Friday evening!

See you all next week!

Ah I don't have any bourbon at home so maybe I'll just drink some soda when its time.

Also thanks for the tutorial on staking the belt stuff. Have you moved into those kingdoms yet?

No problem!

Yeah, I have. I did it before I found out about that tutorial though, so it took me a little bit of time to figure it out but in the end, it all worked out.
