I think your right on the money with your square cash app article. Years ago when my son was born I knew I wanted a college fund for him, and I wanted to invest in growth stocks because I had time for it to grow. But that’s all I knew. I spoke to my advisor, she had me open a stock mutual fund focused on growth stocks. I connected it to my bank account and autodebited $100 a month. I had a huge knowledge deficit back then about investing and even navigating the GUI of the online mutual fund was a new tack. But the simplicity of execution made me a 20 year customer for my son, my daughter and ultimately my wife and my IRA. I know it sounds cliche, but keeping it simple wins people over. Listen to what they want, they want a solution to a problem, first, then, maybe, some education.
