1 Million Metamask Monthly Active Users - Top 5 Countries in terms of Traffic
We all know that Metamask is hugely popular among crypto-enthusiasts. There are more than one million monthly active users across their desktop and mobile applications. The platform reported over 400% annual growth in their active users from 2019 and I think that is substantial for any crypto projects out there.
Leo-finance is trying to get into the ETH space and is using Metamask as a bridge to promote cross chain interactions. It is a brilliant idea. In this post I want to highlight where the Metamask users are and that may help Leo-finance to tap the influx of new users in the community.
Another quick fact that may be interesting is to understand the fact that the significant growth happened for Metamask after they launched their mobile platform. It shows how valuable the mobile platform is for them.
The top four countries in volume of mobile users for Metamask are :
- USA
- India
- Nigeria
- Philippines
It shows the importance of mobile platforms for users in developing countries where mobile phones are integral to their lifestyle. India, Nigeria and Philippines are leading the charge through their technologically advanced younger generation getting into the cryptospace.
On desktop, the scenario is very different. According to simiarweb.com, an analytical website, these are the top five countries in terms of desktop traffic
- USA
- China
- Vietnam
- France
- Russia
The list is dominated by the usual suspects but it is interesting to see Vietnam on the top list. I am surprised and happy that users are flocking in from unlikely places.
I have been using Metamask for more than a year. They have developed their platforms to support their users and with the launching of Metamask mobile I am sure they will onboard more users.

It opens up a lot of doors as well as potential market.

I think the outreach and marketing hold key for leofinance going forward. I think that is a positive of this quasi centralized governance here on the platform.

In the early days, we see this. However, it will spread out as more get involved.
I am going to put forth a "challenge" of sorts in a post today or tomorrow. Nothing really magical just another level to aid in comments.
But at the end of the day, all projects depend upon outreach. Leofinance actually has to pass the crypto world and reach those on the traditional social media platforms. That is where the big numbers are.

Imagine if we were able to pull 1% of those users to Leofinance.
That would be a quick 10,000 users on this platform. Of course, it only stands to reason that Metamask will keep growing as time passes.

The community is really holding strong, specially the whales. After the setback, it was easy to start a blamegame and bring notoriety. That did not happen and I consider that the biggest success so far.
