Will Bitcoin be an Afterthought in the Future?

We are now smack dab in the middle of the crypto revolution or decentralized revolution. With important predecessors like the Industrial and Internet revolution as a solid fundament. Just as the internet bridged the distance gap, enabling many people to be connected with each other all over the world, so will the crypto revolution solve the problem of the trust gap. The problem with middlemen being a governing authority on anything and everything. Banks governing currencies. Governments governing countries and their rules and laws. The problem being that these middlemen cannot be trusted, decentralized technology can solve this.

At the forefront of the revolution we have Bitcoin. The poster boy for all things crypto leading the pack in terms of price and market cap. But will this last? Is Bitcoin useful if we look at its intended use case of being a decentralized currency with its low amount of possible transactions per second? As with the internet we also had a few "bitcoins" here and there like AOL and MSN of which people thought that those would stay big forever. The thought of those entities being an afterthought was unimaginable. Will this be the same for Bitcoin? Is there another cryptocurrency or blockchain that is going to take the reigns? Hive perhaps? What do you think?

I am one of the few people who think that bitcoin's will end in a decade or so. it seems to big though fail but it would at so point. maybe fail is a strong. I think a better way to frame my thought would be that at some point it will take the backseat. i believe in utility tokens like hive. i see them playing a huge role in decentralising the world further

That is a better way of putting it indeed. Taking the backseat. Utility tokens which provide clear solutions for specific use cases and also dividend tokens will be the main players I think.
