My Journey Into DeFi - MetaMask, Binance, CubDeFI, OH MY!

First I would like to thank the whole @leofinance team for bringing defi to this inexperienced somewhat crypto poor boy. I would probably never gotten involved in defi without this opportunity. While I have high hopes for the outcome of this endeavor moving forward, I understand there is always risk and live by the credo "Never invest what you can't afford to lose".

The Chain of Events

Almost two weeks ago I read this post from @lbi-token about holding liquid LEO. I had a vague idea it had to do with defi and one of the new projects from Leo Finance. I started doing some research to try and get myself ready so I could be an early adopter for once. I began reading Leo Finance, discord, twitter and doing google searches to try and find out what I might need to get ahead of the game.

I acquired some liquid Leo that I would need to turn into bLeo. I learned I would need to wrap this bLeo with BNB to do something... I wasn't quite sure what that was yet. lol. I found out my MetaMask account I had made for mining Koinos (what happened with Koinos?) could be used to connect to the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). Reading a tutorial on Binance Academy I quickly got my BSC network set up on MetaMask. Easy peasy! All I need to do now is send some BNB I have in Nexo to my MetaMask/BSC account. Not so fast my friend. :)

"Invalid Adress" is what I get and again when I try to send it from Binance.us after moving it there. Now I realize not all BNB is created the same and what I have now, is not going to transfer to my MetaMask. The instructions I find on Binance Academy to fix this problem seem to apply to Binance and not Binance.us. I saw it mentioned that US residents might be able to join Binance by changing your VPN location. Then I remembered that Trust Wallet was another option.

I load Trust Wallet on my mobile and move my BNB there. This is now some well traveled BNB. lol. From here I exchange it for Smart Chain BNB (for about a $1) and finally I am able to send it to my MetaMask/BSC network. When CubDeFi opens for business I immediately send some liquid LEO to MetaMask for bLeo and on CubDeFi I pair it with BNB and begin farming. A simple 4, er 5 maybe 7-10 step process. ;)

Where I'm at Now

So now the time is close for me to add some more BNB for continued maneuvering on CubDeFi. Hopefully it will work the way I think and I can exchange some coin for BNB on Nexo > move the BNB to Trust Wallet > exchange the BNB for Smart Chain BNB > move the Smart Chain BNB to my MetaMask/BSC network.

Here is my staking details as of this morning on CubDeFi. A little over 8 CUB of that was from the airdrop (Thank You!). I'm glad I got in early and started farming some CUB. :)

Now comes more learning and research. I need to understand the principles behind why the numbers fluctuate and should I be adding/subtracting to the farms and when.

I'm sure there will be or already are better ways to get funds into CubDeFi. These were just my recollections of how I got into defi and how I will move forward. This is not meant to be a tutorial or financial advice. As always DYOR and never invest/spend more than you can afford to lose.

Thanks for reading and enjoy your day!

I was hesitant to post that link cause it was something I saw on discord and wasn't sure of its origins. I figured someone would bring it up because my first question was how much of everything do I have in Cub Finance. Seems like it must be legit. :)
