WHY YOU SHOULD BE MAKING MONEY ONLINE IN 2021?

So when I talk about making money online most people shrug off the idea for so many reasons. One of the major excuses I get is that they already have a job and doing anything else is just too difficult, especially in the digital space.

I laugh.

2020 was an interesting year for many households. The advent of the coronavirus changed a lot of things. Many individuals were relegated to the confines of their homes, unable to work or even socialize. Private-owned businesses had to shut down in line with the COVID 19 guideline.

Interestingly, businesses in the digital space were somewhat immune to the chaos occurring across the globe. There was a boom in e-commerce in 2020. In the U.S, $861.12 billion was spent on online retail purchases. That's 44.0% up from the previous year.

We might not experience a pandemic of this scale in the nearest future that forced millions to transact online. However, the events of 2020 showed the potential of e-commerce and a glimpse into the future.

Asides from online retailers, digital service providers like virtual assistants, freelancers, etc were in high demand and the trend continues.There are over 57 million freelancers in the U.S alone and contributes about 5% to the GDP. In the second quarter of 2020 freelancing posting increased by 41% in the U.S.

So if you're still contemplating exploring the digital space to grow your business or generate revenue then you're on the slow track. Millions of individuals across the globe are beginning to realize the potential of the internet and are leveraging it.

One of the biggest fears when venturing into the digital space is uncertainty.
A lot of people are comfortable with the security their jobs provide and are reluctant to try new things.

However, I will argue that there is no such thing as job security. Also, considering global trends and the rise in technology, a lot of jobs will be lost in the coming years as robots replace man.

It is estimated that over 20million manufacturing jobs will be lost by 2030. Also, considering the rise in Al a lot of service jobs are at risk too. So job security is out of the question.

So it's established that job security is a myth and that the internet holds a lot of potentials and that missing out on this unique opportunity to create wealth is a disservice to one's self. The next action is to determine how one navigates the digital landscape.
