Thank you everyone who value my contribution to our collective HIVE Twitter movement and voted for my little DHF unfunded Proposal

I'm sorry for not being active on HIVE Twitter recently. Straight after recovering from my covid in December, I caught up with some life issues that needed all my attention. I tried to start 2021 with new plan and made things difficult for myself. I took few extra days to rethink what is important for my life right now and also rethinking about my long term HIVE journey. I don't want to talk anything about my life issues here on this post. HIVE is big part of my life and I had to always re-adjust my HIVE journey according my personal life and vice-versa. My only focus was to contribute to our collective HIVE Twitter movement with decade long vision of growing HIVE network effects. The important thing is that many HIVE Community members understand how valuable Twitter is to HIVE and many of them were doing amazing job and contributing in many different ways.

I'm not a kind of person who thinks "what's in it for me ?" I'm more of person who thinks "what's in it for us in the long term ?". Unfortunately I don't have the ability to financially invest with HIVE like STEEM. With my 500 plus days with STEEM, I learned that largest stakeholder like Ned and Steemit.inc employees who only played short term game to make themselves rich. It's almost 200 days with HIVE and I feel we collectively built a solid foundation for our HIVE Twitter movement. I've only put up my DHF proposal as an experiment to encourage others who are adding value to our HIVE Network to get funded via DHF. However I feel like only few privileged people can get funded from DHF. Seeing LeoFinance still sitting at spot 33 in Witness showing me that HIVE run by one group of people and if you're not part of this group then your contribution won't be recognised regardless of how much potential value you're bringing into HIVE Network.

I truly appreciates everyone who're representing HIVE on Twitter during this bull market and I will be joining you guys from today. It doesn't mean that I don't appreciates others who working on improving our HIVE Network.

Troubling. Does this mean that Hive can become just like Steemit eventually or am I missing something?

Steemit Inc was one company.

There are 20 independent consensus witnesses and a hundred others.
Control and power is diffuse, but it still exists.

Decentralisation isn't anarchy or a place where every bright new project gets to be a top 20 witness in less than a year.

As @apshamilton mentioned HIVE has liquid democracy and unfortunately current top 20 consensus witnesses has not been challenged so far and It seems only DHF proposals getting funded are created by those people. If you're outside of this circle then you're ignored.

Also I never asked anyone to vote on my proposal, So I need to take most of the blame.

There are many good things are happening with HIVE like LeoFinance and Blocktrades, However it's worth sharing frustrations and pushing HIVE forward.

I understand it a bit better now. It subconsciously bothers me that there is still some form of democracy, but that's probably just because of the politics in my country. 😅

Also, I never view the proposal or witness section, unless someone specifically presents their own request in a post or something. So many others are probably the same in that regard.

We are pretty much Centralized then !!! Can you share a link to the proposal, just want to ensure, I have voted for it.

Not centralised, but the nature of a dPOS system is that a the largest stakeholders will have the biggest say.

There are 20 consensus witnesses who are all independent people or companies.

Do they vote a lot for others in the top 20 group? Yes.
Do they each provide a lot of value to Hive that justifies this vote: Yes.

Is it possible for new witnesses to rise up the ranks and get into the top 20: Yes.

Leo Finance is a great new addition to Hive. But it is quite new.
It has done well to get to 33 and is rising all the time.

But it is a new kid on the block and needs to prove itself with time.

Every Top 20 witness has been witnessing for at least 3 years.

It is a good thing that change in Top 20 witness ranks is slow and new witnesses have to prove themselves.

It is baffling how some of us act here regarding the growth of Hive.

We have the option to either sink Hive or make it an absolute success, it's up to us.

Yeah man, I've been a good soldier for the blockchain for 3 years now, but things need to change.

This is why projects like 3speak and LEO are so vital to the growth of HIVE. If we wait for the powers that be to do anything...We'll be old and grey.

Build. Always be building.

People like you and me are vital for community growth.

If top 20 Witnesses only vote each others DHF proposals then our HIVE will not grow.

Good that you recovered! That is the most important thing!
On the other hand, I don't want to comment again about the issue of a small circle as it will be seen as a complaint not as a fact that might need to change.

The problem with the DHF is that it is very hard for non-development projects to get funding.

Hive is nicely decentralised now but most of the big stakeholders are devs or don't value non-dev proposals like marketing or legal in the same way as they value coding projects.

This is a bias from the nature of the people who got into Steem / Hive early and thus have the largest stakes.

The good thing is that there is amazing development work going on. See @blocktrades latest post.

The bad thing is that without marketing Hive will not be able to attract the masses.

I partly disagree. For me it's feels like DHF funding is limited to certain people only regardless of the proposal category. Also me being me, I never asked anyone to vote for my proposals or Witness.

Going forward, I'm gonna focus more on reinventing my own contribution while fighting for change within HIVE Network and seeking possible partnerships from outside HIVE Network.

I voted for your proposal but I have only 8,678.563 HP to vote with. Yours isn't the only proposal that got overlooked. This is one reason I have come to believe in LEO so much. They have managed to get a decent level of funding to start building great things on HIVE despite many of the big stakeholders have completely overlooked virtually everything except creating a decentralized, scalable blockchain.

We are barley using around 15% of the DHF daily budget. This has been very disappointing to say the least. I have wirtten more about this here. Simply put, Voice.com has $150 million in funding while we are just hording funds while building not much at all. Projects like @leofinance and @dbuzz have done a great job going off o their own. I don't use @threespeak much. They seem to have done a great job too.
