Don't just mine HIVE. Invest in HIVE. What would you choose? 1 mill HP or 17 BTC?

People often ask me why I keep investing in a project whose price keeps dropping like a brick. And by people I mean even the closest of my friends or family members. Especially them...It makes absolutely no sense to them and it is probably the reason behind their financial stagnancy.

Would they have bought BTC back in 2011 for a few cents per coin if they knew that almost a decade later it would worth $10K+ each? Of course they would have. Most likely they would have sold a kidney too in order to purchase as many coins as possible. Fact. Well...sort of...

Would they have bought BTC in 2011 if they didn't know what the outcome would have been? Of course they wouldn't have.

No pain no gain baby...

People back in the day had no clue what Satoshi's dream was nor that BTC will end up being the battle ram of all crypto and one of the most valuable assets one can possess these days. Maybe Satoshi himself or the team of devs that helped him write the code. Or maybe not even them knew what they were doing really. Maybe they were just conducting an experiment or killing their time...

But year after year people started believing in this idea. Hence the BTC network expanded rapidly. Average people wanted a slice of those 21 million tokens because they truly liked the idea of what BTC stood for. And that's the most important thing. Because once an idea grows roots on ones mind there is nothing that can kill it.

You can kill anything but not an idea.

That's exactly the reason why I keep power up my account. Because to me, Hive is an idea. And that's also my response to friends and family members.

Hive can be whatever we want it to be. For now the social / blogging aspect is what we are known for. But there are no limitations...and you'd better be holding some serious amount of HIVE tokens...because once this thing takes off mining through blogging and commenting or whatever will become far more difficult than it currently is.

Exactly like mining BTC...Mining 5-6 years ago was easier...more profitable. While now...

That's exactly what this guy must have thought. And so he armed his hand bought a shit ton of HIVE and powered up everything...about 24 hours or so ago.

20200906 20_07_06ENCRYPT3DBR0K3R encrypt3dbr0k3r _ PeakD.png

The only reason this went unnoticed is because @penguinpablo usually posts HIVE reports Monday - Friday. Wonder who that guy is? I'll save you from the trouble.

His name might sound familiar to those that used to play Drugwars on Steem and used to be among the top ranked players back in the day.

And just like that @ENCRYPT3DBR0K3R removed almost 0.9% of the liquid HIVE sitting on all the exchanges and powered everything up. And that's the key part. Because staking = curation or delegations hopefully not to bots.

1 million HIVE Power = ~ 17 BTC.

Seeing people spending some serious amounts of dollars to purchase HIVE simply tells me I am on the right track. He could have bought any other alt coin or even hold those 17 BTC. But I have a feeling that he also sees how promising Hive is. Besides he was hanging around back in the day...he knows.

I really do hope that he will put his HP to good use.

Now take a step back and imagine how this place will look like if a couple dozens of investors like himself decide to invest in HIVE...

As for me? I would have made the very same choice. Besides...17 BTC will always be 17 BTC while 1 million Hive Power might be 1.2 mill - 1.3 mill just a year from now...

Hive can be a life changer. It's up to us to get it there...

Have a good one people.

Cheers.

I have like zero LEO Power or whatever, but saw this on Twitter and am pretty impressed to see a few people having some faith in HIVE/Hive. Good catch man.

I have a feeling that as soon as we somehow "fix" the 13 weeks for a full power down big investors will jump in...just a hunch

STEEM went to 4 weeks and is up over 25% on HIVE in price. Something to think about 🤔

Nah they still would have sold out at like $1 :D
People are fickle.

1 million HIVE Power = ~ 17 BTC.

Ah see now this is where it gets interesting, because if you pumped even 1 BTC into Bittrex right now the price of Hive would rise 20%. That's how crazy our liquidity is. That's exactly why Sun would have never been able to attack us if he actually had to buy the coins off the open market.

I'd take the 1M Hive just because it's so hard to actually get 1M Hive :D
17 BTC is easy to acquire.

Yeah...HIVE market on Bittrex is extremely thin. Huobi and Binance is a different story tho.

I don't really think that liquidity is an issue right now...out of 367 mill of the total supply only 138 mill are staked. dd to that 83 that are sitting in DAO and you have it...~ 140 mill liquid HIVE is't that bad...

Yeah I mean it's easy to accumulate in a bear market because everyone dumps out of fear. Let's see where we are at in a year when Bitcoin is going out of control and dumb money is flying everywhere. Hive's liquidity is thin in both directions.

Today we imagine Hive spiking back up to ATH and selling stake to take profits. When that day actually comes the FOMO is so batshit insane it's a completely different mentality. We've all forgotten what it's like to be riding high in the mega-bubble.

You really think that a year from now BTC will go beast mode? I've seen the double curve you keep mentioning and I really want it to be confirmed...again. :)

I feel like the doubling curve has been constantly confirming itself since 2013. You know people say a lot of things like Bitcoin is correlated to the stock market. If the stock market goes down Bitcoin goes down. We've all heard it.

Yet we all know what the purpose of Bitcoin is and what the fundamentals are. Everyone will look back in retrospect and be like yeah duh of course the macro-economics of Bitcoin were never tied to the legacy system that it was hedged against. That was the entire point.

Yet here we are, in the middle of it questioning everything and worrying about everything.
By the time the storm passes most people refused to admit they were ever afraid to begin with.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone be 100% wrong and then act like they knew the deal all along.
That's just people I guess, always trying to fake it till they make it.

LEO is telling that story right now. When it was .025 HIVE, I was buying whatever I wanted. Now, the last time I checked, the sells were thin in the .5s.

It's amazing, many people will definitely chose the certainty of BTC but then with hive your choices are multiplied. Basically there's no maximum risk without maximum reward. Shout-out to @ENCRYPT3DBR0K3R

Would be cool to have such an Investor in some way active in our community.

Means if this account will be a bit more active with his stake and vote or delegate or support whatever he/she/it like!

Man oh man the dream of having that much hive!!

The irony is I don't get excited thinking about 17 btc. But I think about how much my vote would be worth and what that would mean to people with that much hive.

I finally was able to get a couple thousand Hive, and I feel great about that!!

Yes, also the growth of the HP is exciting !!!!

I call it the HIVE syndrome. Happens to me all the time

Lol. Yes it's got me good.

I think there can be a better system (more democratic), but I really like the one we have here, and the community it built. Plus, the more-money-more-influence makes more HP something to aspire to, which wouldn't exist in a strictly democratic system.

A great article @mindtrap.

I like your comparison. Since I am uber bullish on Bitcoin, it is a tough choice for me. In the end, I would go with HIVE since I know I can keep expanding my holding through activity.

The big question is which is more likely to experience a 40x? Will BTC be $400K (not totally out of reason according to many) which would still "only" put HIVE at around $8.

Ponder that for a moment.

As for the large buyers, it is great to see what happened yesterday. However, I think we will see a lot more buying as more wealth centers are created on Hive. This will put resources in people's hands, some of which will be used to buy HIVE.

I keep doing that every single day. There's one thing I am certain of tho. During the next bull run BTC won't reach $400K while I have a feeling that HIVE will smash its previous $8 ATH...

We shall see. I am not sure what time frame it is going to take for HIVE to take off. BTC runs tend to help all others.

Either way I just keep plugging away and filling my bags to see what pays off. So far, LEO is looking very good.

At the moment, I’d probably go with the btc. When we get a few more @theycallmedan’s on our side then I’d switch sides. You notice when Dan is really active the price goes up, than when he’s not as active it goes down?

What a great article my friend, it is surprising the great investment that the user made, without a doubt it is for him a great satisfaction, just like you I also have the conviction that in the return of a few years hive will bring us great surprises.

See you later and have a great start to the week.

I think there is a passion and feeling of being part of something greater than us, otherwise I cannot explain why since I have joined Steem and now Hive I keep on powering up and get involved in many subjects of interests. Is because I have believed and still believe in this project even it had its ups and downs.

But being part of something great is what kept me here!

I really love HIVE and see great potential in this project,to me it feels like what STEEM was supposed to be from the start. Amazing what community can achieve when we work together to overcome things. I see a bright future here and will continue to accumulate as much as I can during this bear market cycle. I plan to be using this account to grow my streaming brand and monetize my gaming content across multiple platforms. I'm looking forward to creating and curating content here over the coming months/years!

Now this is music on every Hiver's ears my friend. Good to hear from you and I am glad you took the time to read the post and share your ideas. We need "hungry" content creators / curators just like yourself and people who have big dreams and expectations from Hive. Let's grow Hive big together.

I like to believe that our collective HIVETwitter movement made this person to Stake 1million HP.

We just need to find 99 more people to push HIVE to the moon

Awesome Power Up, I'm going to keep an eye on your gaming content - if only to work out how I can turn all the money I keep spending on games for my boy into revenue on him streaming what he is playing.

Gamers outside of eSports are going to thrive here on Hive. It's a blessing for those who just wish to kick back, stream and have some fun. Rather than treat it like samurai warrior training 😜

Nice power up... @encrypt3dbr0k3r

First I need to thanks @nathanmars for the tweet for what I got to know about this power up.

I feel like do something like this right now... but I'm sad to say currently sometimes I even need to use likwid service as it is hive which is helping me surviving for months after I lost my job.

I'll keep collecting hive when I'll see better times again and I hope I'll be able to do that one day.

We definitely need more peoples, more believers like @encrypt3dbr0k3r in hive blockchain and I hope that day is not far.

Wow, nice power up, I think the future's bright for gaming on hive. @exodegame might be worth checking out if you haven't come across it.

Also I'm interested, did the Hive Twitter movement have any influence over your Power Up decision. NB I'm not part of the hive Twitter movement, I'd just like to know, some of them are claiming it, personally I'm doubtful whether a couple of hundred people screaming 'Hive' on Twitter has any effect at all and believe people find their way to powering up on their own!

I have been a user of this network before it was HIVE, back in the STEEM days since it began in 2016. I have not invested since then, just have been using it and watching. For a long time I was just a curator only, now I have decided its time to take another position in the network and create some content as I am an avid gamer as well and have always wanted to start streaming.
