In Islamic teachings, people are encouraged to wear the best clothes to go to the prayer. Some preachers describe the best clothes as the new clothes.

Besides that, in Indonesia, there are traditions in Ied al-Fitr. People will visit their family, relatives, friends, and neighbors. They sometimes visit family in other cities. Ied al Fitr is the time to meet ones they loved that have not met for a long time.

On these occasions, children like to wear new clothes not only for praying but also for meeting families, relatives, and friends.

In Indonesia, the most popular moslem wears are sarong, and Baju Koko. For women, there are veils, hijabs, and some accessories.
On the day of the 20th in the fasting month, people will hunt for new clothes. Boutiques, fashion stores can sell branded and non-branded clothing in large quantities.

Fashion stores usually have stocked the clothes before fasting month. They have ordered from suppliers to get lower prices before Ied al-Fitr. Before covid-19, fashion industries from manufactures to retailers earn high profits but today some manufacturers are lacking raw materials. Most raw materials of fashion manufacturers are imported.

People will start hunting for new clothes in the early of fasting month. Fashion stores will earn a slight rise in sales. On 10 days of the end of the fasting month, fashion stores will record the highest sales. There are some reasons;

Nice pictures and I miss working in Indonesia. What I don't miss is the Jakarta traffic! Is Eid Al Fitr also referred to as Hari Raya like in Bahasa Melayu?

Hi @lebah,
thanks for your greeting! My family a I are doing well these days although the pandemic situation is still difficult in Austria, to be more precise for the general public the government restrictions are causing more problems than the virus itself. Besides that we are in full affect with changing weather conditions as always during spring time in central europe. Something between 10°C at night and 20°C during the day. Nevertheless my kids are already looking forward to summer and swimming time.
I hope you and your family is as well alright. I read every post on your hive-blog and upvote every single one :)

public government restrictions are causing more problems than the virus itself.

That is the same situation as in Indonesia.

Something between 10°C at night and 20°C during the day.

That is very cold weather there. On a rainy day the temperature is around 24-25 degree celcious here.
