LBI & Project Blank - Some thoughts

Hello, LBI'ers. I have been thinking about something over the past few weeks relating to project blank. I have not been thinking about the much-anticipated airdrop most are waiting on, my thoughts have been more focused on how will LBI use project blank? and who? We do not need to know anything about project blanks token distribution, reward pool are anything else about the token to plan how LBI will use project blank.
LBI use's LeoFinance.io to uploaded all its content. This content can be crypto investment reviews, LEO ecosystem updates, giveaways, LBI earning and holdings reports and LBI governance. The tokenomics of LEO does not factor into the plan to produce daily content. This is our use case for LeoFinance.
What do we know about Project blank?
From what I understand, project blank is being compared to Twitter. Now, people compared Steemit to Reddit back in the day and that's was like comparing grape juice with fine vintage wine. I think Khal and his team will provide something more comparable based on the fact that LeoFinance's current frontend is more user friendly than the HIVE flagship hive.blog frontend so im looking forward, very forward to the release. Im not expecting a perfect frontend but I expect it to be user friendly with all working links. LeoFinance's first frontend compared to today's frontend is a 1 million % upgrade so I understand things take time.
I have watched a few LEO roundtables and can see that Khal and his team understand the importance of filtering. This is were hive frontends fail and why our feeds are filled with shitposts. #newsteem (remember those guys?) tried to fix content quality instead of letting everyone post what they want and build filters to sort everything out. A shit post to me might be gold to someone else, using filters helps to find that someone else. Shitposts are required no doubt. Unfortunately, quantity is more important than quality. If you can have filters that connect the correct content to the correct user, the platform will explode. I think Khal and his team understand this very well and this will be the driving force to bringing in average Joe end users. In theory, project blank will want users that have no interest in crypto at all, the target is the Average Jeo (I think)
What does filtering mean? When you log into youtube, your recommended videos are based on your past viewings and your location. Because im from the UK, youtube recommends English language videos for me. I watch videos about crypto so im not recommended videos about gardening. Millions of gardening videos exist but I do not see them in my feed are recommendations because youtube has excellent filters and knows I will not watch them. I like the LeoFinanace frontend because im not interested in seeing posts about someone taking a picture of the sky at sunset, we all live under the same sky!!! I wanna see about crypto stuff so LeoFinace suits me better. LeoFinance is sorta like a filtered version of hive.blog for me with all the BS posts cut out. Not saying the content is BS, but for me i dont care you ran 4 miles today and a post about growing carrots does not appeal but it will to others.
Use cases for project blank
As for use cases, we could easily think of many. Short updates, quick polls, sharing links, silly quotes, memes, gifs, daily LBI price and so many other things. We might even bring in a bunch of new LBI investors through project blank. This is all exciting stuff and things I think about when I think of project blank. I think about how many new eyes will be on crypto? how LBI can capitalize from that while also providing something of value to token holders and LEO? These are my thoughts, the airdrop means nothing in terms of dollars and should only be thought of as a tool we utilize to make our mark on project blank.
LBI will find many uses cases for a twitter-like platform. EASY! I could write a list the length of your arm of use cases for a twitter-based platform.
Off platform
Technically project blank will be an off-platform asset for us. If it's a new token, a new platform with its own branding, it's not LEO and it's off-platform. This brings around problems when it comes time to pay dividends as dividends are based on LEO earnings only as stated in the LBI terms released the day before token went on sale. Off platform earnings compound. If we invest $1000 in the wLEO LP, would we split the fees earned and the monthly greystar payout? No, we let it compound and help grow the value of our LBI token over time.
Project blank is different in the sense it's not passive and will most likely require a team to run this for us. In a sense, this could replace the need for discord for a lot of HIVE projects. Think discord were you can earn tokens and it makes sense for people to swap over. As for earnings from project blank in relation to future LBI dividends, we'll need to maybe make an amendment to the terms. Nothing will happen quickly so nobody will miss any details about that. At a guess, we'd be deciding this 4-6 weeks after project blank launches. That's only a guess but I know someone will ask. If you ask, im going top copy/paste this text for you and this text saying im going to do it. haha.
I think getting a team together for this will be simple as im sure a lot of token holders would have great ideas on how we should use this account when it's launched to grow LBI. I have a few idea's myself, this might sound funny but lowering the bar might serve us well on a twitter-like platform. This means a more wide range of content, not LEO/HIVE based. Think about producing content for the average Joe and aim to pull in lots of followers. We can lure them into crypto over time, lol.
LeoDefi
I've not forgotten about this but Taskmaster4450 covered it pretty well in a post 2 days back when he wrote about project blank miners and LEOdefi. We know even less about LeoDefi. I understand they will be a lending platform and other stuff is in the works. I have a feeling things will come hard and fast once they get going.

The power that the LBI funds holds is that it can tap into all the new projects that Leo Finance is building and get a big piece of the pie. I am just thinking of the governance tokens that will come on Leo Finance and that we already have a spot of the investors in the fund. Many great things laid ahead and I think in the future we will be able to expand from curation to the other instruments this community offers and capitalize faster on the funds we hold.

You're right about filtering because the concept of shitposting isn't relative. Content quality or relevance should be determined a lot by diverse people. But I guess you'll had bright ideas of what end you want to finally adopt.

Unfortunately, not yet true details on the Blank project does not yet allow us to have a strategy for the good of LPI.
Over time it could be a good solution to decide to divide part of the proceeds to reward LEO holders and part to increase the value of LBI
But we will make these decisions at the right time, now I think it's premature, especially not knowing what really awaits us

It would definitely be nice if the new microblogging platform can act as an alternative to discord, but I think it might a bit of a stretch to be a complete replacement. But it will definitely be a good place to start a discussion with everyone.
So what is this #newsteem? I wasn't around when this happened. Not sure what you guys mean by building filters to sort out everything.

it's a really good thing that leo stake will play a huge role in the airdrop. that way the lbi project which already has a huge leo staked will be beneficial for certain. thus lbi holders will benefit as well.

It should take away something from discord in terms of HIVE community servers. Discord will always be needed as its so good but project blank could use this as an angel

Certainly. I have this belief that off-chain conversation/chat is more than on-chain engagement and it is done on a micro-level. Project blank will capture these set of people and possible new entrants into the crypto scene. And it can possibly generate more ad revenue than even leofinance site.

I'm not sure how much of the Discord traffic will move to the chain. I guess it depends on the tribe. There are discord channels where discussion quality is not for the blockchain. Those people won't move to the chain but it's ok as it is. Some will move for sure, especially from leofinance. At least that's how I see it.

We've never seen micro engagements on the chain. Okay yes commenting is a form of micro engagement but it's not as quick. I believe if everything goes well with project blank we will see those quick and organic conversations that span for hours on the chain which is usually seen on crypto. Project blank will not capture everybody but it will be significant, that I believe

Some points of discussion, I think discord will still remain due to its privacy. What you write on the blockchain, remain on the blockchain even if you edit it.
For #projectblank we can decide to add a team and build up a publishing house around the LBI family. There are talented writers that post a lot of quality comments each day, so that shall cover it.
The future sound very exciting, that is for sure.

Project blank will be different from discord as structure, instant reply won't always be possible, unless people check new posts instead of following feed and the quality of the conversations will also be different.

Very exciting times indeed. I agree that project Blank should expand on content away from just crypto. I believe if it is going to succeed we have to help draw many different kinds of interests to it, Yes, even those who like to taking photos of sunsets and gardening.
I am already practising getting an idea from my head down to 140 Characters.

Content discovery is definitely an important part of modern content platforms. I have no idea how this would be tackled with project blank, or even here on LeoFinance.io. Maybe some type of algorithm that tracks the subjects you engage with.. will be interesting to see how this is addressed.

Certainly, with LeoFinance, I think that crypto blogging have a whole new face. It gets more incredible with ProjectBlank that would bring the Twitter experience. With this, many area already anticipating and kept in suspense about the more investment options available with BLANK. We're all head-up for the project and would also key into LBI's additions in that regard.

I don't use Twitter because I am German and we don't do Twitter.
But I heard Twitter is the place to be for political discussions.
I posted about my idea for a politics based front-end like leo and I would love to give my input if you are gonna make an interface on project blank for politics people.
Filtering is quite crucial if you want to have fun browsing politics.

Definitely agree on the dedicated team, I was thinking that too.
And looking at noise.cash as the sandbox there are some names coming to my mind which could funnel a lot of people from project blank to Leofinance.

Those were some awesome insights. I think as you said we are definitely kind of in a wait and see mode right now. It is good to have a general plan, but until we know how things are really going to work and look, it is probably better just to wait. I am definitely excited for everything that is in store!
