What Should You Call A "Downvote" Without Purpose?

Downvotes are correctional, I have seen it as a tool which puts users in check, brings in some sort of sanity infact I have seen it on disagreement of rewards, I mean at one point in time we have all come across posts which we feel are over rewarded and we're like "oh my, this definitely doesn't deserve that sum" I mean this is due to the fact that people want to protect their investment.

No one wants to put a load of money into a prospect and have it ruined by external parties, this is why decentralised is awesome. Everyone does their job to ensure a certain standard or goal is achieved and as as a result of collective ownership it become difficult for a single entities to ruin what is collectively owned by a lot of people.

I don't want to champion that decentralisation is perfect. I mean, it's aim is not to be perfect. There are many reasons why people would disagree and sometimes it leads to actions like downvoting. I have been on the chain for long and I tell you that reputations matters a lot.

Now downvoting is not necessarily used for good at all times sometimes it might be used in whale wars and somewhat of that, I have witnessef a lot of downvote war on steem and at the end of the day it all boils down to a group of people using their stake to sell their agendas and their ideas, sell their opinion. But then I feel people who downvote others should sort of stake reasons why they do so.

This is because in attempts to be flawless, live by the rules and avoid abuse, sometimes we can do it all wrongly and that's why I feel downvote should only perform correctional functions rather than a scheme, it sometimes should remind people to do what is necessarily right. when it doesn't, it becomes baseless and anarcial, it become flexing of muscles.

I have majorly chosen not to downvote even when some accounts or people behind them are downvoting me and I have more stake to downvote them as a form of retaliation. This is because I personally feel I can just ignore, mute or report. When it comes to disagreement of rewards I leave it to the big accounts to do so, I sometimes report accounts that are farming the coin or plagiarising contents to the necessary people and this like I said is performing correctional duties.

But then I have chosen to downvote phishing attempts and scam because I feel no one deserves to be scammed it's unacceptable. I believe it's not acceptable to downvote someone without telling them why, this way downvotes are justify and brings changes to the actions of people.

However downvotes without aims are not acceptable, it's quite unhealthy and honestly it's not about the money. Downvotes are like a taint on one's reputation especially if it is continuous. It reminds me of the steem days where people get randomly attacked caught up in whale wars and this trail has gone on a random downvote rampage and it keeps spreading to so many honest users and honestly there's no pattern after I have endlessly search for a pattern.

I believe this trail should state it's intentions for this downvote and create a change it there's anything wrong.
