I'm a regular facebooker even when the control on the user base is way out of this world. I'm sort of monitoring the behaviour pattern of people who regularly use facebook, build their brand on it and own their business virtually on it.

I was watching a video where a popular comedian was talking about how facebook hid his video from the public and you'd had to click view to go ahead to check it. He said the Video was made up of people who were pretending to beat themselves up even the biggest fool watching would know that it was just a comical parody aimed at making people laugh.

I saw the video myself and it was laughable that facebook hid the video, apparently he's gotten some sort of sponsorship on the video and he was meant to advertise a venture on the hidden video of which was somehow censorsed. But of course he didn't know facebook was strict on their policies, he was busy building w brand where everything could be taken from him and he wouldn't speak out because he was scared of further censorship so be just lost the ad deal and well continued and its sort of hurting how people keep living in this ignorance

Of course this is just a little taste of what facebook has in store, they're strict on their policies and should it feels like someone has maybe slightly violated these policies they bring down their hammer of censorship, same with YouTube and same with twitter.
Truth is, many pro facebooker are always defensive when you talk about web 3:0 social media should work in the 21st century.

They're always caught up in how facebook has made them evolved their business and how it has generally taken e-conmerce to a different level for them, they talk about user's experience and how it will be difficult for them to build another audience somwhere else, the fear of changing their environment makes them feel its difficult to adapt to somewhere different.

A lot of Others are so addicted to facebook they don't even know how huge the control of big techs like Google have eaten deep into how they're being controlled. There's virtually nothing you do on most website these days without seeing or being clawed into logging in or giving access to Google or facebook, I mean inasmuch as it isn't by force, you are almost given little or no choice. It eats deep into the behavioural tendencies of people almost predicting their next move like a super artificial intelligence.

Eliminating Competition

People are blinded by the hoax of authenticity of which facebook sometimes present. I was trying to download a different whatsapp apart from the one owned by facebook and I saw that I couldn't even share the link of this non-facebook whatsapp on facebook messenger. Automatically they're taking away competition, instead of giving people the chance of choice and they'll rather name the link spam.

In Conclusion...

There are billions of people on the internet and only a few people are cognizant of this control and almost no one is doing anything about it, its a total dominance and selling off the data of people every single time giving them nothing in return is even worse then censorship.

Platforms like facebook are major stumbling block to Places like hive and vice versa but because facebook has attained global adoption it would basically feel more legitimate and every of their actions would be deemed normal, a lot of people are used to these control it feels really normal and this is a huge problem if decentralised internet would ever be a possibility. Big techs like Google and facebook tend to eliminate competition and I believe with the amount of audience and users they'll keep spreading the need why they deserve to be in control.

I never had much interest on Facebook. My Facebook account still has been dormant since my secondary school days. I think, the only thing that makes me to leave my account there is because of some contacts which are hard to come by in the absence of Facebook.

That being said, what they do with people's information is unbelievable. Getting to know about this was a huge turn off for me.

What l find funny in this whole thing is, no matter how much you try to spread the word, those that are already sworn to it will always do their thing.

Truth is, a lot of people are ardent facebook fans so whatever facebook does will always be fine by them I guess it'll take a lot more to change their mind. Nevertheless its unbelievable how Zuckerberg and his people enrich themselves with these datas without even thinking of giving back. Its pathetic.

I think user experience is one thing where hive loses on. With the downloading of Keychain extensions, and saved passwords and it being unflexible. It makes for a very difficult experience.

It might get simpler with time but it wouldn't get completely simple I guess the complexity is why will remain so, but then, you're right

I stopped using Facebook a long while ago. But either way, they are the gateways to the common public forums and I don't like what they are doing. I like HIVE and block chain for Web 3.0 but we will definitely need a more user-friendly experience and more attractive Dapps.
