The learning curve

How do you describe something as incredible as Hive?

I suppose you have to do it in a Hive post. That is the proper way to go.
When I found this decentralized data layer I immediately saw it as Web3.0
I put all my after school time into learning HTML and creating web pages.

The first web page on the internet,

now exists on Hive.blog Leofinance, Ecency and PeakD.

It is embedded inside the Hive coin.
This, to me, is not the future web.
It is the decentralized web, today.
I started posting here a long time ago.

Starting Somewhere In The Philosophy Of Mind

Nothing is all I know. I don't know it all, and while I am not the first or the last to say I am a fool, it is a very important point to make. When I was a child you could say I knew nothing until my parents and teachers and classmates taught me the social customs, but there was still something I knew deep down inherently. Maybe it was the wisdom that 'I did not know', and there was strength in knowing the limitless possibles of the future.

What can be said? I have an interest and want to grow. I want to become more. I am optimistic. Can I become greater than I was? I am becoming a better version of myself, in time. My desire to know and to grow is what propels me to uncover the next step for me to take. Where we go from here is a decision we all make ourselves. (Aug 8 '16)

Thanks to the magic of Hive, it only took me a moment to retrieve this post. Unlike all those html pages I spent hours upon hours of my teenage life building, or the pages and pages of message boards that are no more, or the countless websites I have created that are no longer online, my first post is still there sitting on the base layer. As far as I understand it, as long as witnesses are running the chain, all of this content is going to be here forever. This has so much value to me it can be hard to articulate.

In the age of Web2.0 social media, I sometimes wish we could go back- back to the old days of instant messaging and message boards. Back to the simple web 2 days when we could surf the world wide web, and the internet had not completely taken over our lives. Before twitter and facebook, before snapchat and especially ticktoc. A lot of people seem to feel the same way, searching for alternatives and seeking a way to escape the panopticon of social media manipulation. I am extremely grateful that we do not have to go back, but are moving very quickly forwards into the 2021s with Hive.

The past four years have been an exciting ride that I can hardly explain, but I often try. I feel like the best way to introduce someone is slowly, one step at a time, but my own excitement will urge me to spill the beans and unload too much at once. Occasionally this still works and I onboard a new users who succeed, sometimes even faster than I did at first. My goal isn't really to be the most popular or seem like the smartest, as my first post reveals I really don't think I know all that much. I do believe that my perspective can be of value though, and the process of creating and curating content on Hive has been an extremely educational experience. The best way to learn is to practice, and what do we do? We author and curate great content. I have found new subjects of interest, I have challenged myself to explore new ideas and also to sit and write regularly.

When I was younger I always thought I would write a book, and yet whenever I have tried to sit and write - A BOOK - in a sitting it never really leads to a whole complete book. I was very impressed then when one of my friends joined this fantastic site, and started publishing chapters. After a short while he stopped posting, but ended up publishing a book and the last we spoke he was working on his third! That kind of inspirational story should show others that if you treat this platform seriously, it is not neccecarily about the crypto. We are not here posting for rewards, we are posting to add value to this chain. All the data and information that is posted here is also preserved for the future.

We are the wizards of web3.0 in the early stages of building an entirely new internet. Hive can string it all together, existing as a datalayer far superior to what has come before. It won't replace the old web, you can always visit some other website, but as examples like HiveList, LeoFinance, and others show, this is the place to build. There is a learning curve, it has taken me 40,219 hours to figure out this platform,

I love this you say:

We are not publishing here for rewards, we are publishing to add value to this chain.

The learning curve may be tougher for some, but the excitement and satisfaction of what is discovered in every post shared here is priceless. I continue learning, going up that curve, looking for my notes and HTML references to make what I write look nice and every day I discover something new, exciting and interesting that makes Hive, a spectacular and unique platform. Thank you for your words in this post.
