New dCity Developments to Rollout in Phases in the Second Part of April

A long awaited announcement by dCity players came yesterday. It was about the 3rd edition cards, but not only.

Looks like in the second part of April, starting on April 21, we will have a roll out in phases of the new developments for dCity.

There are three types of updates being introduced:

  • to the interface
  • the 3rd edition cards
  • to the tokenomics / rewards

@gerber included a glimpse at the new interface in his post on the dCity official site. Here it is (you can open it in a separate tab to see details better):
dCity - new interface

I have to say, without seeing the actual interface, I no idea what most of the new alerts/info and options on the Map tab do.

That's actually the first update on dCity that's scheduled for April 21. It's a good thing it's first, we'll have time to adjust to the new interface before other updates are added.

Three days later, on April 24, a new tab will be activated: Stats. We'll have to see what kind of stats it contains, as we don't have it in the existing interface.

After another 3 days, on April 27, another new tab will be activated: Explorer. This sounds intriguing. :) But maybe it's not. We'll have to wait and see.

And so, the above will be the interface updates.

On April 30, the 3rd edition cards will be released. Before that, it looks like 12 early access passes to the 3rd edition cards that have been auctioned on the site throughout the month of March will be activated.

But dCity game has issue with sustainability and they will be addressed gradually after the actual release.

One set of changes is expected to "decrease in daily hive rewards for ranking, giving the game account more time to generate profits from curation and vote dcity content."

So, expect less Hive rewards from ranking...

The other set of changes that is slated to be implemented in the following months after this release intends to share Hive rewards to more accounts, while "less hive will go to 0 income cities.".

So, the strategy of having a high ranking city by population with no income won't work anymore.

While I believe the above measures will help the sustainability of dCity, I'm still wondering why there is no plan to do something about those rampant taxes...
