On this day, the symbolic 46th birthday of Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym by which the creator of Bitcoin is known, is celebrated.
As it appears registered in the profile of the P2P Foundation, he was born on April 5, 1975. However, very little is known through the file with which this character presumably born in Japan was registered.
As the Reddit user under the pseudonym Gwern explained, April 5 has no internal significance for Satoshi or Bitcoin:
There is nothing I can tell, nothing special about April 5; It is not a round number, it is not a symbolic date, it is not your usual fake birthday like January 1 or April fools, it is not the day that Satoshi signed up for P2P (Foundation) ..., it is not related to when Bitcoin was launched (January) or when the domain was registered (August), etc. So it seems like a good guess on a birthday.
Is it a coincidence that you have a birthday on April 5, 1975?
April 5 is an influential date in the development of bitcoin. The phrase Satoshi wrote when the genesis block on the bitcoin blockchain was created on April 3, 2009 seems to fit the bill for this occasion:
"The times 03 / Jan / 2009 Chancellor on the brink of second bailout for banks"
Interestingly, the year 1975 recorded by Satoshi as his date of birth also seems to have a relevant meaning. As the Reddit user under the name edlund10 points out, 1975 was the year Executive Order 6102 was reversed and gold ownership was re-legalized for average American residents.
For this reason, it seems likely that Satoshi randomly chose April 5, 1975. This day is the conjunction of two historical moments that would mean turning points of great importance for the development of Bitcoin: Executive Order 6102, a decree that criminalized possession. gold even with jail terms in the United States; and 1975, the year this measure was reversed.
