SIM Token Down 20% Since Beginning of New Year

The price of SIM had been more or less pegged to 200 SIM per HIVE (0.005 HIVE) since I started playing #dcity in October. However, I have noticed that what ever had been supporting that price seems to have evaporated and the price of SIM has fallen by 20% since the start of the new year and is now trading in the 0.004 range with a very negative slope.

I have been enjoying the ROI on my dCity, but that ROI will evaporate if the price trend line continues.

Concurrent with the drop in SIM price, the income tax rate has been steadily increases and is now at 18%. The income tax rate is intended to help decrease the amount of SIM in the market and help drive the SIM price back up but so far it hasn't helped.

So I can sit and hope that the SIM price decline reverses, or I can look at what can be done to try and profit from this change in events. Some thoughts I have are -

  • Explore the prices of cards in Hive vs SIM vs BEER vs WEED to see if there are any bargains out there
  • Consider buying cards with SIM and sell in SWAP-HIVE (or BEER or WEED) to help reduce pressure on SIM but still take some profits.
  • Buildup a stash of SIM to test the return on SIM holdings (I read that you can earn SIM by holding 8000+ SIM).
  • Remember it is a game and not an investment. The crazy 300+% ROIs were/are nice, but if it stablizes in the 20-30% ROI that is still a very nice profit maker.

Anyone else know what is up with the price recently? Drop a comment and let me know what you think and if you are adjusting your strategy any based on the price decline.

I personally am using SIM to buy cards directly and not from market and yes I might sell it to Hive .

Will sell hive to buy SIM :)

I have just been buying cards off the market so far. I'm not much of a gambler and like the "sure thing" of buying from the market and knowing what I'm paying for.

Here are 60 000 reasons (a month) I don't play the game...

My working theory is that investing in DCity is undermining the Hive price. Because Gerber sells it all.
