While not an issue at the moment it can QUICKLY become one. Being that all it takes is a single spark or "mistake" that turns on the light and all of a sudden AI systems start advancing like crazy.
This happens throughout our history. While it might not seem like as much as AI it actually is.
Take for instance the printing press or the cotton gin along with other innovations and inventions. Electricity. All of these things had drastic implications during their times.
