A day I thought would never come has finally come and that's the rebranding of what was once LeoFinance.io

Existing Hive/LEO Users

Many of you are currently used to leoFinance.io that was the site for the longest time and as the name says at first it was primarily about finances, stocks, crypto and investing. However in building the "everything" app the team realized how limited this was and it excluded many people.

The name was also confusing as you would still get the feeling that manly finance would be the only thing that could be publishing on the platform. However now with the new name change to InLeo it feels more inclusive at least and at least removes the finance name at the end of it. Giving the feeling that InLeo is all content and not solely finances anymore.

The new site you'll be using rolling forward is now InLeo.io

New Users

The beautiful thing about the name name is that it's more inclusive to everyone and the feeling that all content goes. A name change will help shift that mind focus that has been grilled into many for over a year and new users will get a feeling that anything goes right from the start. This is a huge positive change for LEO overall.

Web3

Web3 and decentralization gets tossed around a lot. Everyone has their own version of what it means and what it does. We constantly hear about decentralized platforms that are clearly centralized and to be fair I honestly don't think there will ever be a day where a fully decentralized platform.

Web3 however could be looked at instead as something on it's own. To me it would be ownership to the users and rewards for the users. While still having some type of centralization and voting system in which bad actors could be voted and removed in some from via the individual or community level.

Web3 to me brings power BACK to the users and everyday people and out of mega corporations and we are starting to see that shift. In particular here at InLeo we will see that shift drastically once the ad buyback program kicks in and even more so when the internal ad system kicks in.

What InLeo Currently Offers

Right now InLeo offers a rather decentralized system for being able to share content on both a thread type level which is comparison to that of X aka Twitter (I'm never going to get used to calling it x)

This threading feature is just like x (twitter) but it also comes with a lot of unique functions and that's votes that actully earn you crypto via the like button.

On top of that InLeo also offers up long form content via articles. These articles can be about anything. Your workout, your day, travel, finance, crypto, music, artwork, gaming or whatever else you enjoy writing about. By writing these longer form articles you can also gain votes on your content earning you more LEO and also the core blockchain token Hive.

More To Come

Now you might be thinking to yourself this is great but there does seem to be missing parts to this web3 platform and to that I would say you're right! But it's coming soon.

LeoShorts will be a video style platform that is said to be run off of the decentralized video platform here on the hive blockchain called 3Speak this short feature seems like it will be another part of the application and wont be directly tied to either articles or threads. Giving it yet another major platform to spread content and votes.

As for long form content that still seems like for now it will reside within 3speak itself and hold that brand but of course it could be tagged with InLeo to earn leo tokens on your video content and maybe those would be shown somewhere later on the InLeo site.

When that all rolls out the key to all of it will be not only ad revenue and growth but also a easy way to somehow swap between these types of content and for a decent algo to locate the content you want and enjoy. That will most likely be the largest undertaking to come and I believe we will start to see that in 2024.
