It will take over your life

The first time I earned crypto was the 24th of December 2017 and it was from my introduction to the Steem community. That post opened up my eyes to a world of possibilities and I have not looked bac since. In the process, I have grown this into a business that is my source of income.

I honestly didn't think I was getting into such a lucrative business when I wrote that shit post that day. It was just me testing the waters and seeing what the hell happens here.

That shitpost morphed into an interest in all things crypto and I tried my hands at different things. Writing, games, video creation, and then eventually moved out of Steem and into Vite blockchain.

I discovered new avenues of passive income and opportunities to earn from simply staking. I was printing money and I couldn't explain it but I just enjoyed it.

Later on, I tried my hands at trading but it was too complicated and fast-paced for me. I'm more of a slow builder, so I only dabbled and scalped every now and then. Technically speaking,if you ignore the time value of money, I have never lost a trade because I have never sold below my buying price.

Earning money is awesome and all but I've always wanted something to fill up the void. I like doing things and getting paid for it, not by bots but by actual people that need me. So freelance writing came into the picture and thanks to @forexbrokr and many others who helped me, I have an actual career in that field.

This thing takes over your life as an addiction. Sometimes I get on my laptop to start "working" but it hardly feels like a job. It has the propensity to take you away from everything and trap you in the crypto matrix.

I don't want to disconnect because I enjoy it, however, sometimes I struggle with taking a break. Taking a break from everything is really important for me right now as every day brings me closer to my wedding.

I'm also making plans to diversify my earnings but again, that all depends on how my emigration plans work out. I have put those plans in the backburner for now because it will be better to accumulate funds that will enable me and my wife to exit the country with relative ease. I also want to build more skills that will enable me to be gainfully employed in the society we eventually relocate to.

When that is all settled, I will diversify my earnings to a point where I can retire in a quieter and less fucked up country. Until then, we keep going, making this crypto money and building ourselves for the future.

What about you though? How has your crypto journey been? Have you experienced any changes in your life because of crypto?

I can also remember the buzz that comes around first post(introduction post).
You are posting inexperienced and ignorant post yet excited to have come onboard.

It will all end in praise, the wedding and every good plan you have in mind. My best wishes

Awesome to read that you're still grinding away and making a career out of your freelance writing.

Just another income stream to add to your Hive writing and defi earnings.

The opportunities available to anyone in crypto can be life changing, no matter who you are or where you're from :)

Hello 👋 mate,

I couldn’t agree more, it is so hard to just take a break but as the same time.

Let’s be honest and acknowledge that this work is eating us up as even when we spend time in the real world we always think about crypto in the back of our head.

So hard to disconnect.

I just did for a few days and it was really enjoyable. I feel like my battery 🔋 is recharged !

Ready to crypto for a few weeks now haha 😆.

Peace out ✌️

Man you are high on Crypto. That's a great addiction to have. You can actually build heaps without even playing the gamble.

My mind was blown away when I entered the crypto world. There are so many ways you can earn a decent sum of money through your device and an internet connection. It's crazy! And lovely. ❤️

Just keep playing this game like there's no tomorrow 😬

First of all, this is a wonderful experience, thanks for sharing, just like you, my own journey started with just one post and since then I have never looked back. I will be a year on hive soon, I am not as old as you are on this platform, but I must confess that my short time here has been filled with so much experience. I am grateful I did not ignore that tweet by @spirall on twitter last year, that was the turning point for me. Once you taste this, you will always want more. It's not just writing anymore for me, it's also learning for me, Learning from others as I grow. Once again, thanks for sharing.
