About employment, relocating, and selling assets

Lately, I've been really busy with life stuff and it has prevented me from participating on Hive to my true capacity. Actually, I've been busy for quite a while now because I've had to sort out money, which means I have to trade and that's something I frankly don't like doing.

This has got me thinking about getting a fiat paying job to fill the gap but I always end up where I started because most of the offerings in Nigeria aren't worth the pay. So I end up back at where I started, which is getting paid with crypto that I really hate selling.

With that said, I'm still grateful for the hand I was dealt and appreciate the opportunity to work in this industry. I think the real issue I'm contending with now is the frequency of my sales of digital assets to sort out my needs.

New house needs some money

So I talked about how we're planning to relocate to an $800 house sometime last week, well we got the house and have sorted out the preliminary cleanups, so it's time to move in.

Getting the house painted and the clean-up pushed us back by $90 and then we also had to buy curtains for the living room, which cost another $90. This might not seem like much in the general scheme of things but it is burning a hole in our pocket because it means we have to pretty much eat up our entire profit just to make it work.

Again, I'm grateful that it is only our profit that we ever consume but it's not an ideal situation. Every time I spend crypto, I always see it as money that could have been invested and so, selling it means I'm missing out on more profit that could have been reinvested.

These things happen though, and so we just have to move forward with the relocating plans. The next stage will be to get the movers that will convey our stuff from this house to the next house and that will push us back around $40.

Once all the moving is done, we'll settle into the house and then start fixing it up from within. This means that we won't have to sell off all our profit anymore, and we can now focus our energy on growing our portfolio.

Making it work

At the end of the day, it all about making the best decision for ourselves and of course our finances. So considering how difficult it is to find a decent Naira paying job, we might as well create one with some of our profit from crypto work.

This one is a very scary venture for me because I've failed in a business in the past. However, we've been discussing different ideas for businesses we could bring to life around here.

If we could actually establish a business outside of crypto, it will lead to a dramatic improvement in our stakes in various platforms. Until then though, we'll have to manage what we have and balance it up with our life needs. It's like a job inside a job, draining sometimes but absolutely worth all the stress.

I was like. Thats expensive! Then I looked up curtains and its equal as expensive here xD

Could you not just create a business which may not be profitable in the beginning and just live on Crypto at the time? Also, your business should in the long run make you more money than you do with blogging on hive. If not, then I don't see it has a good place to place your time brother :D

I'm thinking the same thing brother. If we're doing a business, it has to pay us more than hive pays us, if not then it's not worth the time.

Also, the fact that we have plans to leave the country makes it hard to think of a long term business

The only thing which is better than profit if it does something really good for the community. It could be non-profit though.
Everything depends on what your intentions are I guess :D

But if you guys still plan on leave the country, I would just focus on where the profits are today and not worry about setting up a business which isn't profitable in the beginning :D

Hey Bro, you have shared some valid points. First of all, congratulations on the new house. It will take some time and effort to set up fully as per your expectations but don't hush anything. I got one a year ago and telling from my personal experience, it's better to focus on things you need because everything you put in it will call for more expenses for maintenance. All the very best!

Making your living out of crypto is difficult but highly rewarding in the long term. That's why a side hustle or probably a main business should be there to survive. I am slowly transitioning myself but I will keep on doing multiple jobs to survive. Can't cut down the expenses but I can always find more ways to earn.

Ultimately I want to completely invest myself in crypto and create multiple passive income streams while my other tiny businesses are going on autopilot.

For example, I am going to open a supermarket in my local area to have an extra nudge in my income. It's a trend that is growing in India, especially in cities. So I will capitalize on it. Excited to write blogs about my experiences too. I found Leo Finance at the right time. ;)

I know how it is trying to make fiat money in Nigeria is not and idle idea.
Getting a job in Nigeria is another trouble someone need to think about because there offers is nothing to talk about.

I understand the total stress of getting a new apartment her and moving into it, is something one have to do adequate calculation on before making a move.

Well I will take a look at it this way for to tell you is not really bad you rented an apartment with your profit and not your Capital, though is something you can reinvest to make more profit.

I will say be happy only your profit got you that and in time to come with the plans you have laid down am sure you will balance your finances.

Good luck with the business you will venture it and make a good survey before you go into it and also know the risk and market proximity of the business.

setting up a business is an equally expensive venture. and i dont know about KD, but it has to be something you're sure of making daily profit from.

That's the issue with setting up business, not unless you're lucky, you'll almost certainly wait for a while before making profit in business.
