A series of postage stamps Bucharest Zoo, issued in Romania in 1964, allowed us to visit this interesting and distinctive country.

This era is not the happiest time for Romania, because it belonged to the socialist camp, but, interestingly, residents of neighboring Moldova, which was a republic within the USSR, could not go to Romania for the weekend.

One political system, but a rigid framework of restrictions.

For this reason, the dream of getting to Bucharest and its zoo could forever remain only a dream.

But, thanks to postage stamps, you can visit any part of our planet without showing a foreign passport.

On another postage stamp with a face value of 1.55 L - Romanian leu, we can see a pair of Grevy's Zebra (Equus grevyi) admiring each other during mating games.

Now, take a look at the photographs I took in 2018 at the zoo in the city of Rivne.

You see a very similar plot to the image on the postage stamp you see below.

Between these pictures lies a gap 54 years wide, but, as you can see, love has no boundaries and it does not obey time.

You know, I have a special feeling when I see a postage stamp and these photographs in front of me.

Indeed, it seems that I have made a leap in time.

This is the last stamp from this series that I have in my collection. I have to find the missing postage stamps and perhaps this series of postage stamps will appear in my publications again.
