Postage Stamp - Paintings by P.A. Fedotov - Gamblers 1852 - USSR 1976 - Michel 4490 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

Looking at my collection of postage stamps, I don't understand how a hand can go up and stick a postage stamp on a postage envelope, lol. After all, they are so beautiful and interesting.

It can be said that the creators of postage stamps initially knew that people would want to own them, and not send them as proof of payment for the postage.

Basically, it's like betting coins by voting, which I do occasionally lol.

Today, I propose to take a look at the fourth postage stamp from a series of postage stamps, which depicts paintings by Pavel Fedotov, an artist who, in his paintings, ridiculed the life of the Russian nobility of the nineteenth century.

This series was released in the USSR in 1976, when I was three years old. But, I'm older than this postage stamp, and that upsets me a little.

This postage stamp depicts card players who spend all night playing cards.

At that time, many nobles were gamblers and gambled their entire fortune.

In this picture, you see the moment when one of the players, lost everything, remained a beggar.

This painting and postage stamp is called Gamblers.

The circulation of this postage stamp is slightly less than that of the previous postage stamp from this series and amounts to 5 740 000 copies.

The denomination of this postal stamp is 10 kopecks of the USSR.

There are two variants of this postage stamp in my collection, this is a postage stamp with a coupon, a blank, an uncanceled, and a canceled postage stamp.

Below, you can see the estimated cost of a blank postage stamp, a blank postage stamp with a coupon, and a canceled stamp.

The coupon is not a postage stamp, it is its appendage, which contains some information about Fedotov's painting.

By itself, a coupon is worth nothing, but it increases the value of a postage stamp if it is attached to it.

Let's take a look at these postage stamps.

Important!

  1. Please note that the cost of shipping postage stamps to other countries can be many times more expensive than the postage stamp itself, approximately $ 5.5.

  2. I see that it is not profitable to purchase one postage stamp if, suddenly, you need to replenish your collection. It is always more profitable to purchase the entire series, and, surplus, to change, or sell.

  3. If you decide to buy a postage stamp online, be careful. sometimes sellers use stock images. But this option is unacceptable. You need to see exactly the product that you are buying.

  4. If you are afraid that the postage stamp sellers will want to deceive you, you are doing the right thing, do not doubt it.

  5. To get started with this hobby, buy a good magnifying glass, tweezers with flat and thin edges and a stockbook for postage stamps, they will come in handy.

  6. When buying postage stamps, pay special attention to the back of the postage stamp. The adhesive layer must not be damaged.

  7. There is such an expression - How many people, so many opinions, this also applies to sellers of postage stamps. Each of them believes that his postage stamp is in perfect condition, but only you yourself can find the perfect postage stamp for yourself.

  8. Sometimes, a small, white scrap of paper with a round stamp on it and a number inscribed in the center circle can be a very valuable postage stamp from the days when postage stamps were not printed.

  9. The cost of a postage stamp is determined by supply and demand, but usually in catalogs you can see the estimated cost of a postage stamp in Pounds Sterling.

To be continued.
