Postage Stamp - National icebreaker fleet - Icebreaker "Sadko" - USSR 1977 - Michel 4616 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

Before we move on to the review of the next postage stamp from Series National icebreaker fleet , issued in the USSR in 1977, I want to share some thoughts on how newcomers to philately begin to develop their hobby.

There are many paths, and I'm sure anyone who wants to learn more about collecting stamps will start by visiting the forums on the internet.

And, here, there is a danger that your hobby will end, failing to start.

I decided to visit several forums and saw the answers of "professors in this business" to beginners.

Harshly, without mercy, locally and without a desire to interest, this is how these answers can be characterized.

I am a happy person, because my hobby began one fine morning, on my birthday, I went into the room and saw a pile of postage stamps on the carpet in the room.

Think about how you educate children to be interested in life.

Bright rattles, cubes, then, gradually, you move on to more complex constructors and puzzles, and so on.

It seems to me that you need to start your hobby gradually, from simple to complex.

Then, gradually, the desire to learn more about the subject of your hobby develops.

So, today, I propose to look at the icebreaker named "Sadko", which adorned a postage stamp with a denomination of 10 kopecks of the USSR.

In my collection there is an uncanceled postage stamp that rolls around at auctions around 66 US cents.

The icebreaker got its name in honor of the fairytale hero Sadko, who made long sea voyages, like the Simbad the Sailor.

This icebreaker was also born at an English shipyard and was bought by tsarist russia.

This icebreaker is multifunctional, it was used both as a passenger ferry and as a ship that breaks sea routes in the ice.

This ship was able to visit the seabed, a stone broke through the bottom and the ship sank.

After a while, he was raised from the bottom, restored, and he continued his raids.

In 1934, he took part in a raid, along with the icebreaker you saw on the 1976 postage stamp, "Ermak".

The vessel transported equipment for the polar station.

"Sea Phoenix", I would rename this heroic ship.

Like a phoenix rising from flames, this ship rose from the depths of the sea.

Important!

  1. Please note that the cost of shipping postage stamps to other countries can be many times more expensive than the postage stamp itself, approximately $ 5.5.

  2. I see that it is not profitable to purchase one postage stamp if, suddenly, you need to replenish your collection. It is always more profitable to purchase the entire series, and, surplus, to change, or sell.

  3. If you decide to buy a postage stamp online, be careful. sometimes sellers use stock images. But this option is unacceptable. You need to see exactly the product that you are buying.

  4. If you are afraid that the postage stamp sellers will want to deceive you, you are doing the right thing, do not doubt it.

  5. To get started with this hobby, buy a good magnifying glass, tweezers with flat and thin edges and a stockbook for postage stamps, they will come in handy.

  6. When buying postage stamps, pay special attention to the back of the postage stamp. The adhesive layer must not be damaged.

  7. There is such an expression - How many people, so many opinions, this also applies to sellers of postage stamps. Each of them believes that his postage stamp is in perfect condition, but only you yourself can find the perfect postage stamp for yourself.

  8. Sometimes, a small, white scrap of paper with a round stamp on it and a number inscribed in the center circle can be a very valuable postage stamp from the days when postage stamps were not printed.

  9. The cost of a postage stamp is determined by supply and demand, but usually in catalogs you can see the estimated cost of a postage stamp in Pounds Sterling.

  10. In terms of quality, postage stamps can be divided into three groups: used postage stamps that were pasted on and removed from the envelope, canceled postage stamps that were canceled at the post office, by order and sent for sale, and clean, uncanceled postage stamps. As you can imagine, these three types of postage stamps, their conditions, greatly affect their value.

To be continued.

I edited a photo in the program PhotoDirector, which I also installed on my smartphone.
