Over Quarter Million Dollars was transferred to HBD Savings on 2nd July 2021.

avatar

Good evening to everyone .
Hive HF25 was completed on 30th June . It was actually smooth .

7% interest for HBD

One of the changes that was made during the HF25 was that if you held HBD in your savings then you will get 7% interest per annum .

This 7% is decided by the witnesses .

Now let's see the data from June 1 2021 and see if there are any major changes in the pattern before HF25 and after HF25 .

Daily HBD transfers to savings from June 1st 2021

Daily_HBD_transferred.gif

Well you can see that 23rd June and 2nd July stands out and the other days the trend is erratic .

Daily HBD transfers to savings - ( Based on users who is transferring )

Daily_HBD_transferred_user.gif

Looks like it's the user @mika who is transferring huge amount of HBD to savings .

I will share all these charts at last so that you can interact with it yourself and see closely .

Past 30 days top users who have transferred HBD to savings .

Top_users.gif

Well in the past 30 days , @mika has transferred over a million dollars to savings.

@mika vs other accounts

mika_vs_others.gif

Well almost 90% transfers is done by @mika alone .

Number of unique users transferring HBD to savings daily

unique_users.gif

Now this shows a clear trend . The number of unique users has almost tripled when compared to June 1st 2021 and this is a good sign .

July 1st 2021 saw the highest number of users transferring HBD to savings .

You can access the dashboard here -

Image is clickable .

That's it from me for now . Have a great weekend .

Regards,
MR.

Hmmm… I will move some HBD to savings too … but it seems strange to lock in 7% APR when you can get 14% from Curation…. Probably more like 50% here on ProofofBrain.io …. Strange.

The price of both Hive and POB can go down. They can go up also but engaging in them carries more risk. A lot of people do not want that.

After all, many people put their money in dividend stocks or CDs as opposed to investing in Tesla or some other high flyer.

With HBD, the idea behind working on the peg is to remove the volatility in the token. That means the 7% is the yield as opposed to 15% curation on Hive but a drop of 40% in token price.

Just another asset class for people to utilize.

Ok…that makes sense. I am a big fan of Stable returns on a CD … so I guess I should move some HBD to savings. Are they expecting Hive to fall 40% ?

Are they expecting Hive to fall 40% ?

Not really sure what you mean by this .

Me neither … I didn’t understand this statement

As @taskmaster4450le said , POB and HIVE aren't stable . For someone who isn't looking for too much risk but still wants to be in the crypto world , HBD provides a great opportunity .

Right now , if I put my money in bank , I get 5% interest per year but HBD? 7% which is awesome but I can't put that in Hive though since if the value of Hive goes to 10 cents again then I will lose a lot .

I don’t understand … Why would Hive ever drop to 10 cents ?

Why not? It recently dropped to 18 cents and came back up .

If a big whale sells off all the Hive he/she has then the price drops right ?

I guess it’s good passive income if you plan on being away from your computer or phone for several months on summer vacation. But I still earn way more from autovote while I’m sleeping. Maybe they plan on getting rid of autovote ?

The value of autovoting decreased with the switch to the linear reward curve.

Hmmmm…. I seem to be earning more than ever. Weird.

Hopefully, the HBD peg will get fixed after the changes made through this HF. 🤞

I think it's a great way to avoid market fluctuations and still get the decent interest of your investment.

We are seeing it around 1$ far more than we used to do before . Hopefully it continues.

You are right but what if Hive value goes to 5 cents ? Then your earnings will also diminish .

Maybe they plan on getting rid of autovote ?

That can't happen . I currently curate through my own script , nobody can stop that right?

Yeah. Automation is imminent and necessary. You can do much more with it. Just two hands can't do everything. 😂

Exactly that's what I think too but now HF25 just gave more options for people to vote on.

Previously most had to vote on posts to prevent dust but now , not anymore, lot of good comments you can vote on.

That's right! Do you think now we will see more people upvoting comments on Hive just like we have on Leo Finance?

It will be interesting to see how these numbers expand over time. We are still in the first few days.

The current supply of HBD is 10,658,691. That means about 1/10th the supply moved to savings.

We are still in the first few days.

Totally. In the early stages itself we are seeing great movement so if we promote this , maybe in future we will see higher amount being brought to Hive .

This is an interesting study and to get the tax free and steady interest income, I guess the savings in #HBD seems to be a great option. I think this would be the trend after HF25 soon.

I guess so , I am definitely considering it . For those who are not very active to curate then this is a great alternative .

Wow that is a ton of HBD and I don't think people can get that much normally so they must of been buying off the market. It will be interesting to see how these numbers change over time

Exactly what I felt when I retrieved the data.

This is great news for Hive to be honest. Just think about it - a million dollars of Hive and HBD bought off the market.

The number of savings transfers is increasing rapidly. I'm surprised to see that @mika has transferred over a million dollars to savings

Nice one pulling up this data. 7% APR seems cool. Will be moving some Hbd to savings. Would also be really nice to see how this figures grow overtime

What about 10 or 20 years :-P

Interesting indeed, does it compound monthly? Since it still has the transaction in last 30 days rule..

Or does it slowly increase all the time which I think happens too Hive power? Never really checked the details on that but it seems to be a different number each day

Shit. What a move! :D
Do you think he will borrow me the 7% he earns?? :P

Honestly the new development in the HF25 is very good and the benefit from it can be underestimated especially with the saving APR% of 10%.
This is cool.
Thanks for the detail analysis.

Once again the Master of Data Aggregation strikes again! Great post on the HBD situation. This information evokes excitement in me for the stabilization of HBD.

We may soon see an actual stable coin and eventually rank up with BUSD, USDT, USDC, and that bunch!

May HBD price action forever go sideways!

Hehe I really appreciate your kind words.

We may soon see an actual stable coin

That will bring lot of investors to Hive for sure.

This interest is higher than what short term stablecoin staking gives in most platforms. HIVE now has another great use case/feature in the ecosystem.

Holy shizzle, that's a lot! I also put my first HBD earnings after the HF in savings (it was just 7 hbd lol) and will continue to do so the next month at least.

Looks like the interest for HBD, especially if it will be relatively stable going forward, can be a real magnet on Hive.
