Two weeks on noise.cash – I'm having a lot of fun

Two weeks on noise.cash .png

About two weeks ago, I started on a kind of discovery journey. I was a bit bored and looked up some platforms that I've been made aware of by people like @jongolson or @behiver. One of the sites that I signed up to was noise.cash. I would like to give a little review of my experience on this platform which surprised me in a very positive way.

What is noise.cash?

Well it's a kind of micro blogging site. Imagine Twitter but in a much simpler form. To be honest I've tried twitter several times but I always gave up after a couple of days. I believed that micro blogging wasn't really my cup of tea.

It was somehow different with noise.cash. The first reason was that I met quite a lot of people that I had already seen on the blockchain. I started to engage with them and funny thing, I started to get tipped! Since my wallet provider sends me an e-mail each time I get one of these tips, my inbox was full with these income notifications.

That's how my inbox tends to look like when I'm active on noise.cash

The free tips were a great discovery

After some time, I received my first free tips. You get them from the system when you engage with others. I was lucky to read somewhere that you should keep only 20% of the tips that you receive for yourself. Yes, by the way, you can actually keep some of these free tips for yourself! I started to distribute tips and then I got more free tips and I really enjoyed the interaction and the fact that I could reward people with the money from the platform.

What did it bring to be active on noise.cash?

Well the tips are great and after 14 days I collected about 6$ worth of BCH (the currency of the platform). It's two cups of coffee where I live. It's nice but this isn't the main advantage I take with me from this platform. In 14 days, without trying too hard, simply by engaging with people, commenting, liking and tipping, I have managed to get more than 100 subscribers.

There were also a lot of people who presented their Hive posts on noise.cash and I discovered some great content and some very interesting authors. I started to follow the people on Hive and they tended to follow me back. I also got much more interesting interaction on my posts. This is what represents the biggest added value for me.

What can micro blogging bring to Hive

When I see how the hive community is active on noise.cash, I believe that we are both, long content creators and also micro bloggers. Honestly, both things go very well together. You don't always want to read the long posts. Often, you just want to have fun, post a meme, a picture or the thing that goes through your head at the moment.

If I just draw conclusions from my experience on noise.cash, I believe that micro blogging can improve several aspects on Hive:

A form of content that everybody can produce

In the world of today quality content is great, but if we want to bring the masses to the blockchain, we need a more simple version. We need what @jongolson would call snackable content. We have to remember that not everybody is able to write 500 word posts and for most of the people out there, they don't want to spend hours on a piece of content. Micro blogging would fill this gap.

Better discovery of quality content

It seems a bit paradoxical in regard to what I've just written before but micro blogging allows to catch the attention of people. We just refresh our feed constantly on noise.cash. If we put links to our long posts in there, they will catch the attention of people and they might have a look at our posts.

Networking and interacting

When on noise.cash, you share more personal stuff and you start to learn more about the people around you. This creates different relations that are quite complementary to what is now on hive. I believe it allows somewhat closer connections between users.

Looking forward to #ProjectBlank

The details are not yet available but I believe that @khaleelkazi will soon unveil #ProjectBlank. In my opinion it will be a micro blogging service on the hive blockchain. If I'm right about that, I believe that the whole hive blockchain will be greatly profiting from it...

Let's connect ! You can find me on these platforms:

Wow! That's so nice. 6$ in 14 days.
Honestly, I think I should open an account on noise. cash then. I have been hearing a lot about it.
Yeah, I just read a post from taskmaster about this project blank of a thing.
It is definitely gonna be microblogging and you are right that some people are not just up to the task of writing up to 500 words or even more.
And also there are times that you just wanna have fun as you said with short articles, memes or even pictures and microblogging would fill in for that.
I can't wait for Leo finance microblogging.

If ever I open noise. cash account, I will definitely find you in case I need a guide on anything.

I totally agree with you. It's great to see the content of people but on noise.cash there is a personal dimension that allows to know each other a bit better. I just started to follow you on lbry ;-).

I am also looking forward to the microblogging service. In fact, we reached over 100 comments yesterday at the Leo Market Talk thread yesterday as a way to prep for it. The biggest issue I see that hasn't been talked about is the RC issue for new accounts. I think some of the active new users will not have enough HP to stay as active as they want on the service. Do they leave, create more accounts or do something else entirely? I do not know but I do think we should try to find a solution.

I think that the issue of RC might be slightly different because it seems the project blank will send custom jsons to the blockchain. I'm no specialist but I believe that these transactions require less RC than comments or votes. On the other hand it could be a motivation for new users to use their RC in a meaningful way (avoid spam) and to try to grow to be able to interact more.

Noise.cash had been a good place to hangout over the past 2 weeks for me too. It gave me a way to interact more with Lions. Guess despite my dual personality (erinclair /arrliinn) I still managed to get a few new followers here on hive for both accounts and now close to 160 tolerating my noise there at the other side. 😅

Guess we'll see more of each other here when then launch the project blank! Great achievements on noise.cash thus far! Congratulations

There are a lot of hivians that I've met on noise.cash and that I didn't know before. It has been a very enriching experience :-)

160 subscribers is quite amazing! Congratulations to you too!

Big earnings there with Snackable contents. Happy it's coming to Hive sooner.

It's definitely going to be great to have this on Hive!

Excellent your post, I have heard of that platform but have not reviewed it, from what you mention there is quite a lot of interaction, I definitely think I will enter that platform. Thanks!

I've had a lot of fun trying it out. I suggest that you give it a try, just to get prepared for project blank.

I think Networking and interacting is the most important aspect of the whole thing. The 0.1 BCH I've so far are nice and all, but the connections I've build and people I've met because of noise.cash are worth a lot more than that!

I believe that when you can combine increasing your network and at the same time earning some coins, then it's a no brainer :-)
