The Attention Whore Got Left Out Of Blood

avatar

Whoever makes the news to drive the markets gets a fattier paycheck. It's a practice of Bloomberg that was revealed by the crypto twitter yesterday just after the IRS Binance news came out. To be able to influence markets you don't have to be a media outlet though.

Take a look at Elon Musk and how's he able to push the price of DOGE up for quite a while, and lately managing to play with BTC's course as well. He's a market wizard that's for sure. He's not a fundamentals wizard though. I guess he's spent much more time tweeting than actually educating himself on crypto.

He's a proponent of Dogecoin for quite some good months, but lets be honest, Dogecoin is total crap in comparison with Hive, Ethereum and other projects that have real life use cases. Why has he chosen this meme coin to promote on twitter?

I thought he found it funny and it could gain him much more attention than Hive would. This man is all about attention and feeding his ego. He's made a lot of money, he hasn't started from scratch though, bought himself the position at Tesla as he's clearly not the founder of the company. He plays with satellites and the concept of sending humans to Mars, working on creating a satellites soup to bombard us with 5G, but how much is he entitled to talk crypto?

I'd say he's not that much entitled to so. The whole tweets saga regarding Bitcoin's bad influence on the environment is proving that, and the crypto community hasn't stepped down in proving he's wrong.

When you have Teslas charged with electricity created by coal you shouldn't really talk about Bitcoin being bad for the environment. The only thing bad in this equation is him acting as an influencer in the crypto space. He doesn't have the pedigree to do that. Pompliano has it, Michael Saylor to, but not Musk.

He's all about feeding his fat ego and being in public's attention. He got the taste of having a bit of influence in the world and he starts abusing that. Elon Musk should and will be unfollowed by many of us in the crypto space. I am actually blocking him on twitter. He's not the first one to get on that list from my side and probably not the last.

My reasoning for doing that is that the more you give attention and energy to such people and narratives, the more you accept their realities and encourage others to do so. Elon Musk is not entitled to talk crypto at the level he's trying to do so. He's just an attention whore and nothing more.

When you consider no longer accepting Bitcoin as a payment for Tesla based on Bitcoin's so called environment issues, but thinking of replacing it with DOGE, while your company's created vehicles are doing pretty much the same, it's clearly you don't know what you're talking about and probably you don't even care.

If Elon Musk is about attention let him take his share from someone else, I'm not giving it anymore. A man who probably thinks that DOGE is a safer bet than BTC and that Bitcoin is that bad for environment should go to hell, or Mars. Not the type of influencer we want in crypto...

It's not like I'm advocating for influencers who only talk Bitcoin and spread false positivity. I'm not that dumb and easily manipulable. I don't even own Bitcoin, but that doesn't mean I don't see value in it, I don't see where it's at against DOGE and what nonsense Elon Musk is talking lately. I don't know about you, but Elon Musk should probably start looking for other community to brag himself around.

I wouldn't welcome him here and definitely not falling for his attention vampirism. Influencers these days have quite a heavy impact on the world, and the markets as well, thus we need to choose carefully which ones are we feeding. Because we're the ones creating such personalities through our attention.

We live in a world based on attention and recognition and it's in our hands to shape our reality by choosing whom are we offering our attention to. I don't care if BTC will dive deeper and if Elon Musk will start pouring positive tweets about Bitcoin the next days or months, he's blocked by me on twitter and that's it. He's proven to be just an attention whore on social media and nothing more.

In hindsight, it was inevitable...

Thanks for attention,
Adrian

Some see him as genius, some as lunatic, but the truth is somewhere in the middle. Also, he is a human with all the inherent qualities and defects.

I think he's up to something. It's just so obvious something fishy is going down behind the scenes.

As always, there will be an end.

So much hate in these lines hahaha but you're right, people like this only want attention for what they do, they are egocentric and don't care if they harm others.

Personally I don't like him and have no idea why everyone fusses over his every move. I think it shows how shallow people really are if they worship him as that is exactly what he wants. Most "celebrities" like the lime light and will do things to just be news worthy.
