The Hive Engagement League
This league is not based around financial rewards and relates to engagement.
Everyone currently on my master list has a chance here, including those powering down or dealing in delegations over the past couple of weeks. Only the top 100 scores are shown.
The score is made up from a simple formula which uses the following types of engagement:
- Posts (P)
- Comments (C)
- Number of people spoken to (PS)
- Comments outside of own posts (CO)
- Unique Author posts (UA)
- Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (CR)
- Comments - length in characters (CL)
- Up-votes to others (V)
- Up-votes to different authors (UV)
- Self-votes - No minus score but no bonus HIVE (SV)

Pretty nice to see some steady numbers with no real wild swings. I think the up-tick in self votes is people testing the effects of HF 25 on self votes, hopefully it will disappear or decrease after a little bit.
Yes, a decent week. One quarter of those self-votes were by one person on their comments, I have chosen to reduce the rewards here.
I did not notice that, I thought maybe a few would try and see what happened especially some of the higher rewarded people going back and self voting during that special 7 day cycle, The first few days i ignored it, but then when my curation went tits up I decided to play with a few votes and had one very excellent curation day of +7 Hive.
I don't think people look at the reward part, well maybe some do, but I think that most on the list just like knowing where they stand. You could go to a 6,5,4,3,2,1,1,1,1,1 reward system for the top 20 and some may lower their efforts, but I doubt many would balk at it. It was and is nice to get a reward every now and then, but it is not the end all reason for posting, commenting, or being part of the system.
